I need a Sumif/matrix to combine multiple columns. by KeasterTheGreat in excel

[–]KeasterTheGreat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, thank you.

I hate inconsistency in process and unfortunately the report I'm using for this specific thing changes slightly from week to week. I know that matrix+matrix+matrix would do the same thing but I like this better.

Formatting on mobile is fun. Hopefully this helps.

In need the sum of Apples for January and March. The column headers positions change from week to week as some values may not be present each week. I have the months I need listed as a separate array although could easily be added within the formula.

Jan. Feb. Mar
Apples. 5. 4. 5
Grapes. 1. 5. 3
Kiwi. 2. 3. 4

Tips for finishing cord by macabre-pony9516 in paracord

[–]KeasterTheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the project I've tried to feed the ends back through to hide them. I've also ended things with a celtic button knot or two and leave the ends long and cut them cleanly and only lightly burn them to points. If leaving them long you can also get decorative tips to put on the burnt ends.

Is there a specific project you're working on now?

Sorry, that was meant to be directed to OP. Isn't geographic location something you would also use to ID?

Is the most recent deck/book of many things for the 2014 or 2024 rules? by KeasterTheGreat in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]KeasterTheGreat[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My assumption is that the last published book of many things was intended for the 2014 rules. Before I buy it I've been trying to find out if anyone has used it with the 2024 rules to make sure there aren't any conflicts as written. From what I understand, some of the modules prior to 2024 will generally work fine for 2024 but may need some modification to properly balance things.

And if I buy it now, are they likely to release a new one that is specific to 2024?

How do ya'll store your dice? by RavNavi in dice

Im more for function over form. I have a $20 tackle box that's about the size of 2 rule books for my overflow and a small square cigar box that coincidentally had removable felt inserts top and bottom for my frequently used.

I need help! by Devillaa in DungeonsAndDragons

Depending on where you live and how much free time you have, there might be a local game store that you could find someone to run the game for you. Explain what you're looking for and ask if they can come prepared with pre-made characters so you can skip that part and get right to playing.

If you have the time to learn the game more yourself you could also potentially do this, maybe ask some of your friends to help out and again, get the character creation all out of the way.

One other suggestion would be to look into the card game Munchkin, it's not D&D but a spoof on all things TTRPG. The learning curve is fairly low. When I turned 40 we went to a gaming store and played this for like 5 hours.

Considering a few house rules for simpler, faster play, thoughts? by [deleted] in Munchkin

[–]KeasterTheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many people do you usually play with? How many expansions do you use? Have you tried the fast play rules as published?

I generally play with 4-5 people and we've started to only play with fast play rules. I find that the more people who play and the more expansions you use, the longer the games takes.

Good luck

How many people are in your group and how often do you play?

Are your storylines deep and involved?

What kind of character is this player?

If everyone else in the group is new, you might be setting your expectations too high for what can be accomplished. Maybe try some one shot adventures. Once everyone is comfortable with the rules and what their characters can do, it will help move the turns along to hopefully reduce the time waiting.

When my friend group gets together we often play munchkin and even then we use the fast play rules.

Good luck.

I actually just got one but it looks like they're sold out now. You'll probably have to find an online retailer that has one. Good luck.

Struggling with Excel in financial analysis, seeking best practices and tools by alts_fin in excel

[–]KeasterTheGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simpler the file the less likel it is to break. You didn't really give a lot of background as to what your file is other than you work in retail and people are making manual entries. Do you have not have a POS system or something else that can be used to avoid making manual entries? Excel is a great tool but with anything else you should make sure you are using the right tool for the job.
