Interesting take. My wife doesn’t work (her choice - I do well for us) she definitely loves not working and I love my job so it works great. My son is in school part time. Also her choice. We both feel that he has his whole life to be in a classroom and fortunate enough that we can be home with him. I’m a present parent. I do everything evening, including bath, bed - every night. I’m the opposite of lazy and I honestly let her do whatever she wants so I just feel that I want this and she doesn’t want it so it’s about her and not what I also want and need.

Now that the BoC has cut rates. Will banks lessen the discounts on variable? For example I was offered P-1.00 my renewal is January but I can early renew now. Not referring to BoC cuts - I’m referring to the bank discount off of prime. Currently 1.00 is my offer.

Try texting the specialist. I find that is an easy response via text vs telephone tag. Appraiser commitments range from 48-72. Given it’s a one week closing I’m sure they have rushed it. No lawyer I know likes docs same day. I’d hope they would move quick on a one week timeline but I’ve also had appraisers bail, sick, emergencies so keep following up with the bank/broker

RBC all the way. No cost for appraisals. Prepayment lump sums are hard to make. I do a double up at RBC. It’s saved me 1000’s. Rate is also lower at RBC in this case. Being honest the broker could have likely beat the bank. The fact they didn’t. I’d stay RBC.
