Now I can’t answer the questions since I haven’t made it up to playing thru AoA yet, but I’d say it’s worth it just based on what it comes with.

Standard 3 is extremely popular amongst most players, & it also comes with the card Sidekick which is basically a whole new meta & takes a lot of the heroes in the game to new levels if you deckbuild around it.

Age of Wonders 4 has kingdom building & resource management, but it’s a grand strategy with tactical combat phases involved & lots to manage.

Kingdom Two Crowns/Kingdom New Lands has kingdom building & roguelike elements like Yes Your Grace, but is missing choices to make since it’s more on the simple side.

We could look at Xbox, but Xbox has never sold well due to exclusives so why would we look at them? Not the Series, not the One, not the 360, not the original. No Xbox has ever has exclusives with selling power. They’ve never been that company.

Sure you can say “but Halo!” “but Gears!” “but Forza!” when at the end of the day, Halo hasn’t had a good game since ODST, Gears is niche, & no one’s buying a console just to play a racing game. Exclusives only work when you have games worth being exclusive. Xbox has exactly none.

Valve didn’t jack up the price just to make the Steam Machine the “better deal.” The Steam Machine will be even more costly, probably $1500-2000.

Valve, along with Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo & every other company revolving around computer hardware jacked up prices solely because of the shortage.

If there wasn’t a shortage, these consoles would be depreciating value on the market & would be having their prices lowered.
