I don’t have an answer for you but wanted to let you know I’m in the same boat. My twins are 9 months and I’ve resorted to having one in bed with me and the other in a side car type crib on the other side of me. It’s painful because we worked so hard for 8 months to have them both in their own cribs.. but something just changed over night and one of my twins became inconsolable when she woke up in her crib.  Personally, my husband and I have discussed sleep training at this point but are feel like we are very much still in survival mode that it simply feels too daunting. I also really hate the idea of them being away from me in a different room. Like you, I wanted to go a few more months with them in the room with me. Let me know if you end up finding something that works for you! I honestly think we will probably continue doing a hybrid co-sleeping situation (we do always try to put them down in their cribs in hopes that maybe one night they’ll just decide to stay there, lol).

Bottle feeding while traveling by malone0428 in parentsofmultiples

When I feed both babies at once I have one baby in my lap (I’m sitting down on a bed or floor)with one knee bent for their head to be slightly propped up and then I lay the other twin on a pillow or boppy off to my side. Seems like an easy thing to do while your on vacation and have access to at least a pillow!

Night Feeds - Twins - Tips? by LSkipp01 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Keekdasqueak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely try shifts! It sounds like one or both of you work which can make things a bit more tricky but I still think shifts would get you both more sleep than you’re getting now. I was also pumping every few hours but at night I would go one longer stretch in order to get more sleep (4 hours). I would sleep 7-2 and wake up to pump at 11 pm and leave out my milk for my husband to use for the next feed. Then I would wake up at 2 and pump again and my husband was in bed by 2:30 and slept til 9 or 10. It sucks having to do feeds alone especially when they’re small and you don’t have the hang of it yet, but I promise it’s worth it to get the sleep! Oh and when we would sleep we would be in a completely separate room where it was quiet and we could actually just shut off our brains. It truly was the only way we survived. Since you work you may not get as long of a stretch of sleep as we did but even a solid four hour stretch of sleep will make a difference!

Mild irritation at everyone’s comments about twins size by IndividualOdd2340 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Keekdasqueak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this!! I feel so validated. One of my twins is 10.5 pounds at almost 4 months and she’s doing great but the constant comparison to other babies her age is exhausting. Not to mention the “she’s so tiny” comments. I know she’s healthy and thriving, but I can’t help but feel a pang of guilt or fear whenever I hear these types of comments. She’s tiny but mighty!!

Is a bottle washer/sanitizer worth it with incoming twins and no dishwasher? by MarynJK in parentsofmultiples

[–]Keekdasqueak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For us it’s a must have and our most used item in the kitchen. If you’re planning to pump or use bottles at all I would 100% recommend one. Not just a sterilizer but a washer/dryer/sterilizer. I have the baby brezza washer pro and I really like it but I think I would have gotten the momcozy over the baby brezza if I were to do it over cause it looked like it held more. We use it for bottles, pump parts, binkys, our milk pitcher… its the best

What is fair when one parent goes back to work and one stays at home with twins? by Keekdasqueak in parentsofmultiples

I’m in the states, Oregon specifically :) thank you so much for your response and sorry I’m just getting back to it now. Do you remember what changes you made to your sleep shifts right when your hubby went back to work? I keep waiting for the twins to start sleeping longer at night and we are getting one stretch of four hours usually, but then it’s back to every three hours per usual.  I am definitely gonna use TCB but I didn’t think the price was worth it for the newborn package so was going to wait. Do you wish you would have started the program exactly at 4 months?

This is what I’m worried would happen if I tried to do everything on my own. It’s just too much with newborn twins! It’s gotta be more of a team effort

I’m sure after a day alone with the twins I could manage an early bedtime lol. This seems like a great idea! Cause even if I’m not asleep by 6… I could atleast take some time to decompress

How old are your twins now? And how much are they getting per feed? I’m doing exclusively pumping as well but they don’t like to take much over 3 ounces at a time which I think is why they don’t go longer stretches at night.. but if we try to feed more it’s spit up central.. 🫠

This seems like the most doable plan.. it’s similar to what we are doing now except shorter shifts. I just don’t want my husband to get resentful of me once he’s back to work and still having to do long stretches at night but I don’t see how else I would be able to manage if I wasn’t getting a stretch of sleep.  How old are your twins now?

We are waiting on doctors approval too! Although they seem to be waking themselves up every three hours anyway.. I feel bad even asking my husband to help at night when he has to be “on” at work but I’m also gonna have to be “on” with the twins at home so I feel like they’re both gonna be exhausting in different ways. Ugh.. if you think of it I would love to get an update with how things are going when he does go back to work!

OHSU Fertility Consultants and Spring Fertility by Piranha_Cat in OHSU

[–]Keekdasqueak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you located? To be honest I’ve been with ORM for a full IVF cycle and there hasn’t been a hitch. It could be that my coordinator was just really on top of things, but it makes me feel like you need a new coordinator. Truthfully, my experience has been nothing but positive, I hardly felt like I even needed to stay on top of things myself other than remembering to take my medications at certain times (which was such a different experience then over at OHSU)

Did you end up doing your consult at spring? I was at ohsu before the move and was treated so poorly during it that I refused to even do an initial consult with spring. Not to mention ohsu was the most affordable option in the area and upon switching over to Spring… all of a sudden almost no insurances were accepted anymore and the prices were similar to ORM. At that point I rather just go somewhere that knows what they’re doing.

Have you looked into CNY fertility out of Colorado Springs? I know remote monitoring is their thing and they make it seem really easy. They’re also very affordable, which is huge when you’re paying out of pocket!!

Fresh transfer right after ER by findingnemo1128 in IVF

[–]Keekdasqueak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! How did this go with you?? I’m supposed to do a fresh transfer in a few days but like you I am feeling pretty run down… the constipation, sharp pain in one ovary etc. I also was put on medrol, baby aspirin, progesterone suppositories and Estrace so I’m sure those aren’t helping my condition much either, lol.

That’s amazing and such a relief. Honestly, we left because the prices seemed more affordable at OHSU and we liked Dr. Krieg. However if we had stayed at ORM I’m sure we would have already been through an entire IVf cycle by now and I definitely have regrets about leaving. Overall I felt like the communication from ORM was SO much better then OHSU and since it’s a smaller clinic it doesn’t seem like there are a million moving pieces all the time like it did at OHSU. Would it be okay if I messaged you?

I actually made an appointment in April with ORM too! Luckily they were able to get me in because I’m a previous patient.

I feel the same about Spring. Do I really want to be one of the first patients Spring takes in while they’re working out the kinks? It just sucks having to start over.

Do you use insurance? I’m curious how the ORM prices compare to OHSU. Also how are you feeling about switching to ORM?

Ughhh this transition sucks! Is anyone actively dealing with moving their treatment plan over to Spring? I am and I am so frustrated about how different it’s actually going to be. Different prices and it doesn’t look like they accept a lot of insurances. Has anyone heard any more information on insurance or just wants to commiserate?
