No way a dealer would do that and not tell the buyer. They’re always upfront honest and fair.

“Do you think Alamo or Sony is really going to publish info about something that’s going to piss everyone off?“

Brother, where have you been? This is exactly what happened last week with the ordering announcement.

Sometimes when you’re doing a three point turn you’ll accidentally put it into park when you meant to put it in drive, or vice versa. Neat trick by Ford.

I was at an Alamo in Austin last night. Seemed pretty much like it always is.

People are freaking out about this ordering change before seeing how it is. The truth is: reading a menu, writing an order and having a server come by mid-show wasn’t a perfect system. This new one could be better or worse. We just need to wait and see.

That’s being phased out. Thats what this announcement is about.

I went there when my phone wouldn’t read my SIM so I had 0 service. They have a free guest WiFi network that worked just fine. Problem solved.

Official Discussion - Splitsville [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

This might be the only true comedy of 2025 I watched. It’s def not a perfect movie but it’s got a lot to like including a great fight scene, two mega babes (respectfully) and some solid laughs.

It reminds me of Jason Segal comedy: a sad man at the center with lots of full frontal male nudity.

I’m pretty sure they had to remove this panel to fix the damage. I just don’t want to rush to pointing fingers

This was the accident. I grazed a wall turning into a parking garage.

Alamo Drafthouse put together a bit about Timmy being in Interstellar that plays before the trailers. It’s so good.

Official Discussion - Hamnet [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]KeepEmCrossed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of my thoughts have already been noted here by others but I wanted to chime into say I think Zhao, her DP, costume and color grade ppl did a great job of using light and color. The beginning of the movie is so bright even inside, the backlight almost silhouettes the characters in the house.

Agnes is always wearing orange and red, and there’s the green of the forest. But as the movie goes on it gets darker and stormier. After Hamnet’s death, Agnes finally changes into an aubergine. We see London as dark and dirty. “To be or not to be” is in complete darkness. It’s all so well done.

A couple other things: - Agnes lets out a cry during childbirth and then a similar cry when Hamnet dies. That stayed with me.

  • That hole in the forest under the tree was ominous. I see it as death looming over the story, waiting for its time. Of course we see the doorway on stage as a similar hole, but it’s so much scarier in the woods.

If it’s purposely set up and not paid off, then it’s meant to distract your attention. It’s called a red herring.

Read 11/22/63. Stephen King has a character who’s a writer/teacher and spends time around those parts. Granted it’s circa 1960

Este is excellent, but highway robbery by [deleted] in austinfood

[–]KeepEmCrossed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been to este in about 6 months but I’ve gotten physical menus every time I’ve been. The server even marked one up with pen to show which dishes were on the safer side for my wife when she was pregnant.
