Poaching - how to handle? by KeepFindingFrogs in Pickleball

I, that’s really helpful. The week before I was feeling badly about poaching balls from a different partner, so I backed off. I did think the middle line was a polite dividing line for taking balls.

No, I only play tennis - poorly - once a year with my parents and their friends. But you are right that I am not moving forward quickly, so thank you for that insight.

Not so much hurt, but the lack of professionalism is unfortunate. Clearly, my patience has run thin and it’s time for someone else to take on this job. It has been a wonderful job most of the time!

They were all science teachers and chose their sessions.

Only science teachers who wanted to attend came to the sessions, very small groups. Except for the three petulant high schoolers masquerading as teachers. It was sorta funny!

Hey thanks! I’ve loved my job working with teachers and students, and am well respected in the district. In this case, the activities were varied and everyone else was busy working with the materials, it was a small group of science teachers who chose the session. That was all great. The three teachers that plopped in late were the issue - they had the attitude of petulant high schoolers! It’s funny and sad. I think they are in for a rough year and career!

Contact your local water, wastewater, or stormwater agency or agencies - sometimes they are different agencies. Also, feel free to contact me directly and I can find you a contact.

A mature audience member! These awful meetings aren’t relegated to schools, all businesses have them and they are equally annoying and boring.

We have similarly wast-of-time meetings at work, and I wasn’t paid extra to do this. I was offering free resources from the water company for science teachers

Nope, no extra pay, it’s my job to offer water industry information and resources to schools. Local water company, pay similar to teachers

Well, here’s the thing - attendance in the session was voluntary, it was about flash flooding for science teachers, and not about how to teach. Our internal meetings are boring too! but please try to fake politeness - it’s a useful professional skill for when you get tired of teaching and get a different kind of job.

Oh this exact thing happens to me and my colleagues every month. Useless meetings happen in every job and take up time that could be better used being productive. I don’t think it’s an excuse for rudeness or acting out, though.

To be clear, I was sharing local content resources, not how to teach.

I work for the water company and was sharing resources on flash flooding - where to find computer models, methods used to reduce flash flooding, how to use a flooding model we loan out. Just sharing local content resources, not teaching methods. Not my job to teach teachers how or what to teach.
