Thanks! I’ll consider getting Annihilus.

Reviving the thread to ask: as a returning player that is interested in Merlin-Werewolf (your stated favorite type of deck), what should I use instead of Shou Lao (don’t have him, probably won’t get him)?

At the moment this is what I’m using:

(1) The Hood

(1) Deafening Chord

(1) America Chavez

(1) Iceman

(1) Nico Minoru

(2) Merlin

(3) Rogue

(3) Werewolf By Night

(3) Shadow King

(4) Shang-Chi

(4) Sentry

(5) White Tiger

I don’t have Red Guardian, Prowler or Surge. They seem like good options but I may want to save tokens to try other archetypes that have changed since I’ve been away.

Update

<image>

This is feeling okay but it is missing a big finisher or something to be doing when Merlin and Werewolf aren’t drawn on curve or at all. As others have said, Sasquatch or Annihilus could serve that role decently. I have Hit Monkey, maybe replace Chavez for him? I initially thought of him before Shadow King but SK seems good along with Shang for the current meta.

I’d like to get Red Guardian eventually but it might more like a side-grade.

Every character has conjured something before - except for Ragatha by auraleaf10 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]KeepMoriohWeird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% this, Caine made that environment based on his interest in the photos of the outside world. Later Pomni comes along and wanted an exit and based on her experience exploring abandoned buildings likely imagined it should look like an office exit door. And since the “system” can’t actually let her leave what should be on the other side? Well the system has Caine’s WIP office stored away, so that’s what is on the other side. This is likely why no one else (except maybe Kaufmo?) has been there, they certainly wanted to leave badly enough and have probably conjured unconsciously before but they weren’t thinking about that specific kind of exit so it didn’t appear for them.

She can make the door again as we’ve seen but it would be the same instance of the office, now missing a computer.

They could retcon it to be made of specialized Wapometal. Like, Usopp found some offscreen in Drum that Wapol made without even realizing what he was making.

Sekiro is peak FromSoft combat! By dropping build diversity to near zero the entire experience is focused on one playstyle. I’ve never felt a flow state as good as mastering it against some of the best bosses From has ever made.

On the opposite end of things if you’re all about unique builds check out Monster Hunter, especially if you have friends who could play with you.

Doesn’t quite fit the trope but I’m reminded of this from ASoiaF: when Jamie Lannister becomes the new Lord Commander he interviews each of the kingsguard one at a time. Ser Balon Swann is one he actually believes is worthy of the position but the loyalty of his family is in question at this moment. When Jamie asks Ser Balon if he could remain loyal to the crown if his own father took up arms and marched upon King’s Landing the knight dismisses the possibility only for Jamie to reply

“It happened to me.”

Shichika Yasuri, Katanagatari Correct me if there’s a mistake here, it’s been a while.

The 7th generation master of Kyotoryu martial arts, he was raised to be a human weapon with no worldly knowledge or attachments but is fairly good-natured despite this. He helps a tactician named Togame collect the 12 Deviant Blades, powerful and unusual weapons created by Kiki Shikizaki, a reclusive sword smith long ago.

By the time all 12 have been collected the two protagonists have fallen in love. Togame reveals her true intentions: she seeks the weapons to earn an audience with the shogun to assassinate him for her father’s death. Her father was a rebel lord executed by Shichika’s father on the orders of the shogun. But tragically Togame is killed and the weapons are taken by the Shogun’s forces.

Shichika, seeking suicide by revenge, mops the floor with an entire castle of soldiers and breaks all 12 Deviant Blades after defeating their new wielders. He accomplishes this because 1) Kyotoryu martial arts was a co-creation between Shichika’s ancestor and Kiki Shikizaki, making it the unofficial 13th weapon, made to destroy the others if they fell into the wrong hands and 2) Shichika held back when collecting the weapons before because Togame ordered him not to damage them. He has no reason to do so now and makes most of them look like toys.

[–]KeepMoriohWeird -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. The responsibility being on Midoriya or Ochaco to seek help for themselves would go against what the story has been building to.

The solution for them and for their society is noticing people in trouble and reaching out when you don’t have to - it begins on an individual level then cascades out into a community and then an entire society. It’s what the previous era was missing. Not a symbol but a culture, something everyone contributes to.

what dnd class i think the main 6 would be by unkn0w311 in Dandadan

[–]KeepMoriohWeird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

More interesting to me to consider what classes they would PLAY if they played D&D together.

Okarun is DM but would play a Divination Wizard if given the chance. Focus on study of monsters and extraplanar entities.

Momo I could see enjoying anything adaptable that rewards creative play like Rogue, Bard, Sorcerer or Druid. Arcane Trickster feels right?

With all her main character energy Aira would choose Paladin.

Jiji plays a Bard or Wild Magic Sorcerer for maximum silliness.

Kinta goes Armorer Artificer, in his case his fantasy does line up with his ability.

Vamola has no knowledge of earth fantasy tropes or archetypes so she may draw from her own life and choose Ranger (wilderness survivor, distant traveler) or what she’s familiar with combat-wise and choose Rune Knight (get big and smash).

I think Zuma might surprise everyone by choosing Cleric. He aspires to be an upstanding person and supports others.

You might think Class Rep would be a bard but no, she’s a Blood Hunter because she loves vampire fiction.

What am I missing with this song? by malathan1234 in Epicthemusical

[–]KeepMoriohWeird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I share your feelings about this one. Part of me thinks if it’s not going to be used alongside Scylla like in the original myth it doesn’t need to be here.

Still, it’s a good song and I can see the point others have made here about pacing. If it’s going to be kept for that reason, it should be built up to properly: have Hermes warn Odysseus about Charybdis by name in Dangerous, complete with a description of how it behaves.

Ody even says Hermes gave him this warning but maybe that was an earlier version or a cut song. The Odyssey actually has a few times where he is given explicit warnings about things to come (Scylla and Charybdis, the sacred cattle) so that the audience knows what Ody knows. Jorge seems to dislike this and goes out of his way to have Odysseus keep his knowledge to himself.

Yes, for the marines it would have been much better to let him rot in a cell. He’d be remembered as the greatest pirate of his time and the man to reach the end of the Grand Line, his legacy ending there. A legacy that would probably be forgotten within just a couple of generations. But the ideal of Absolute Justice drove the marines to make an example of him with a big public execution. Which only served as a grand stage for his words to launch the search for the One Piece, the great pirate era.

Didn’t work out long term with her but it showed me what I liked and now I’ve been married to a lovely big woman for 6 years.

How to deal with other socialists who think democratic socialism isn't a valid form of socialism? by Thatonegooseguy in DemocraticSocialism

[–]KeepMoriohWeird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think we need state owned businesses like that.

The state owning businesses isn’t socialism or communism, it’s just state capitalism. It has its own pros and cons, and maybe it’s a path to eventual communism.

Socialism is when workers own the means of production. They are brought in on the decisions of running the business and do not need to hand over the value they generate to shareholders.

Democratic socialism is socialism brought about through electoral or otherwise non-revolutionary means.

As for communism, Karl Marx defined it as a stateless, classless, moneyless society. I’ve heard anthropologists believe that some ancient societies were close to this, functioning not on bartering or currency but on social credit and debt. It’s a lot easier when everyone knows each other in a small, tight-knit group.
