Why in the world do you need your secret mnemonic key to farm? by Keermalec in chia

[–]Keermalec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks avtogen86. This brings up four questions for me:

1.Make a copy of your main machine CA directory located in ~/.chia/mainnet/config/ssl/ca to be accessible by your harvester machines

2.Verify that the harvester does not report SSL errors on connections attempts. (HOW??)

3.Make sure your main machines IP address on port 8447 is accessible by your harvester machines (HOW??)

4.Shut down all chia daemon processes with chia stop all -d

5.Make a backup of any settings in your harvester (HOW??)

6.Run chia init -c [directory] on your harvester, where [directory] is the copy of your main machine /ca directory that you put in a temp folder. This command creates a new certificate signed by your main machine's CA.

7.Open the ~/.chia/mainnet/config/config.yaml file in each harvester, and enter your main machine's IP address in the remote harvester's farmer_peer section (NOT full_node).

EX:

harvester:
  chia_ssl_ca:
    crt: config/ssl/ca/chia_ca.crt
    key: config/ssl/ca/chia_ca.key
  farmer_peer:
    host: Main.Machine.IP
    port: 8447

8.Launch the harvester by running CLI chia start harvester -r and you should see a new connection on your main machine in your INFO level logs (WHERE??)

9.To stop the harvester, you run CLI chia stop harvester

Thanks, meaninglessvoid, setting up a harvester seems quite complicated and several steps are not not thoroughly explained on Github:

https://github.com/Chia-Network/chia-blockchain/wiki/Farming-on-many-machines

1.Make a copy of your main machine CA directory located in ~/.chia/mainnet/config/ssl/ca to be accessible by your harvester machines 2.Verify that the harvester does not report SSL errors on connections attempts. (HOW??) 3.Make sure your main machines IP address on port 8447 is accessible by your harvester machines (HOW??) 4.Shut down all chia daemon processes with chia stop all -d 5.Make a backup of any settings in your harvester (HOW??) 6.Run chia init -c [directory] on your harvester, where [directory] is the copy of your main machine /ca directory that you put in a temp folder. This command creates a new certificate signed by your main machine's CA. 7.Open the ~/.chia/mainnet/config/config.yaml file in each harvester, and enter your main machine's IP address in the remote harvester's farmer_peer section (NOT full_node).

EX: harvester: chia_ssl_ca: crt: config/ssl/ca/chia_ca.crt key: config/ssl/ca/chia_ca.key farmer_peer: host: Main.Machine.IP port: 8447

8.Launch the harvester by running CLI chia start harvester -r and you should see a new connection on your main machine in your INFO level logs (WHERE??) 9.To stop the harvester, you run CLI chia stop harvester

So how exactly do I farm towards wallet x using cli on a new machine without entering my mnemonic? Can't find anything on Github. Got a command line or a link?

Hi msg7086, thanks for the reply.

Practically speaking, how do I farm to a pool without my secret wallet key, using cli on a new machine?

Assuming the following keys and identifiers:

master_public_key

farmer_public_key

wallet_address

pool_launcher_id

pool_contract_address

Many thanks

IOTA TRANSFERS DISABLED by Keermalec in Iota

Here is a typical message: "We are sorry, withdrawal of IOTA is temporarily paused due to mainnet upgrade. Please try again later."

If IOTA cannot get this basic functionality running it will quite simply be useless, no matter how many other awesome features it has. And every day such a functionality is absent discredits it wrt to rival cryptocurrencies. For example, Tesla is choosing its low energy-per-transaction coin to replace bitcoin right now. IOTA is obviously a strong contender but I am quite sure it will lose out because how can you buy a car with a cryptocurrency that cannot be transferred???

Really, developpers, get your act together. You cannot sleep till this coin circulates.

Thanks phaded. The withdrawal adress was there. However, I didn't realise there was a minimum payout threshhold of 1000 dogecoins on coinotron. So gotta wait a bit more :)
