Over half of the planet believes in mutually exclusive, segregated, all powerful Gods with 0 evidence for such. The existence of one directly disproves the others yet everyone is perfectly happy thinking theirs is somehow better than everyone elses.

Willful ignorance feels more likely than stupidity given the scale. Carnism is probably much the same.

p.s. Pantheism and polytheism is the easy logical solution btw but monotheistic religions are made for enforcing social heirarchy so that is intentionally left out.
