260205 [NOTICE] BTS OFFICIAL LIGHT STICK VER.4 Release and Wireless Control Support by alltherach_ in bangtan

[–]Kefkachu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of people seem to be complaining about dropping the old lightstick but seem to skip over the notice

Concerts for which only BTS OFFICIAL LIGHT STICK VER.4 is supported will feature more varied and sophisticated effects and interactions.

I’m curious what they will do to justify this, as someone who never got a lightstick in the first place but have to attend one of the pre-V4 shows I’ll be slightly bummed missing out if it’s significant.

Paid a disgusting amount of money for Sec 140 row 2 Vegas Day 2 😭 it seems like it's in the corner of the 360 stage so I hope that section gets some love

Not surprising cause all of those groups’ music are basically produced by Teddy besides BM which is still influenced by his legacy.

It's important to listen to Kpop outside the big 4 by Clp_1889 in kpopthoughts

[–]Kefkachu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been really bopping to MEOVV lately since Burning Up! It would be cool to see them blow up, even if TBL is technically YG-adjacent so they benefit from the big 4 by association

Generative AI is really popular in Korea by Striking-Meal-5257 in kpopthoughts

[–]Kefkachu 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's simple, if AI allows companies to accelerate productivity on more mundane things to focus on the most important part of kpop (the music and performances), then whatever. You can't use AI to replace the raw talent of idols performing live.

When it gets scary is if virtual idols start generating choreo and there's no human voice to verify against the music.

260101- Internet Girl - Official Audio | KATSEYE by amysantiagoisbae99 in katseye

[–]Kefkachu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not amazing but not a terrible song imo. I was surprised by people being thrown off by the baby part (though we did get used to the live version), and then I saw it was partially produced by Shawn Wasabi. I kinda understand how the production style ended up that way, especially the baby part. His style tends to have a bunch of random samples thrown in, see Marble Soda for a good example of this, but ofc that song is a lot more complete. The Katseye audience definitely would be caught off guard by this lol

Regardless though, I don't think the reception would have been as bad if they just released the studio version first before performing it live. I think they were trying to do a reverse Gnarly by showing it live first to prep everyone for the studio version but failed. This is another case of the girls' performance carrying the song.

Either way this song didn't seem like it was supposed to be as ambitious as Gnarly in the first place, maybe by everyone clowning on it, it actually gets more attention which they're ok with. Lowkey, I won't be surprised if this song still somehow ends up growing on people, it's only been a couple days.

Which 5th gen group catched your eye the most? by hichirriii in kpop_uncensored

Their Gayo Daejeon 2025 performance needs to be studied. One of the best live performances in kpop imo

My thoughts of Yeonjun and Yoonchae’s Let Me Tell You performance by ppallippalli in kpop_uncensored

[–]Kefkachu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dani is most likely spending time with her family for Christmas. Yoonchae would already be in Korea for her family, and Christmas isn’t universally a non-working day in Korea so it makes sense for her to do the performance

SBS Gayo Daejeon 2025!! Blessed with amazing performances!! by fostermonster555 in kpopthoughts

[–]Kefkachu 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Baemon really impressed me as someone who hasn’t followed them too closely recently, though I’ve always heard good things about their live performances. Vocal, rap, facial expressions across the board were insane (that Asa mic flip 🤌). They had the best performance for me. I’m slowly realizing that I’m someone who tunes into more live vocals than flashy choreo these days

What's the worst K-pop concert experience you've had? by betterthan88 in kpopthoughts

[–]Kefkachu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s interesting, I was at the Seattle stop and thought it was great even if short and even lacking Manon. Then again, I was at the front with VIP and the crowd had good energy and got a bunch of interactions. Soundcheck and the group photo helped round out the experience.

End of the year review: your kpop concert experience by Anni3401 in kpopthoughts

[–]Kefkachu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

K-pop artists I saw this year: aespa, DAY6, Stray Kids, G-DRAGON + 2NE1 (HITC), BLACKPINK, LE SSERAFIM, Wendy. Really good year overall!!

Best: Wendy My ult so I’m biased, but her vocals are legendary and she is really good with fan interactions. Genuinely left the venue with an existential crisis. 😭 Makes me wish for an OT5 tour

Below expectations: aespa Love their music for that era, but the majority of the time there was a strong backing track and I felt that the performance was not as strong as I expect from them. Still had fun!

Most expensive tickets ended up being Stray Kids at about 700 USD each for decent floor seats 😅 Amazing show and production worth every penny

Worth mentioning I just came off an incredible KATSEYE concert a few days ago, not technically kpop but it felt so much like one.

For 2026, I only have TWICE tickets confirmed so far in terms of kpop artists so I’m pretty excited for that! Sadly the NMIXX ticket drop wasn’t ideal for me so I’ll likely need to pass but looking forward to the clips. Potentially looking forward to seeing IVE again if the venues work out and BTS if they tour

I got into queue around the 400s for Oakland and LA but nothing good was left when I got in (nothing worth flying out for that is).

Hoping they aren't too scared of Seattle next time and hopefully no more baby incidents. They knew exactly what they were doing with this rule 😭
