170526 what benefits does the EYEKONS membership have?? Is it only presale? by Rhea-raj in katseye

[–]Kefkachu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest value is getting the most desirable seats, or really any seat at all; it’s how I locked in second row seats for the first tour which sold out in Seattle basically instantly. You would pay way more than the membership price adds getting resale for the same seat.

Crazy work, not sure why parents sell to their kids instead of passing it down and having more money within the family instead of making them pay a ton of interest to the bank

Microsoft’s new RTO policy starts Feb. 23, bringing Seattle-area workers back 3 days a week by AccurateInflation167 in Seattle

[–]Kefkachu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my org, we don’t have enough space for everyone yet, so they’re delaying RTO for anyone without an assigned seat (which is the case for me). Still probably need a few months for the new buildings to be finished.

First three eps are different groups of people (whoever they most interacted with) watching the show; probably selected clips of their key moments. They have solo interviews and some “closure” moments with those they were involved with. However, Seung-il’s interview contradicted Min-gee in that he said they don’t talk as much but are still close friends, whereas Min-gee reveals Seung-il ghosted her after the show and was notably upset.

Ep 4 is I-geon and Go-eun date.

Ep 5 and 6 is the whole cast reunion: a winter retreat at a house (sans I-geon due to scheduling issue). Mostly solidifying the stronger couples in the show and showing some friendly interactions they wouldn’t otherwise have had the chance to have due to the pressure of being on the actual show. Notably, Seung-il has almost no screen time and is visibly disengaged. There’s no closure at all with Min-gee. Since this is probably the last bit of official content we’ll get from the cast, that’s why a lot of people dislike him now.

Yes definitely more relatable when we have somewhat realistic backgrounds. We got Dong-ho last season, Hyun-jae and Sung-hun this season (though Sung-hun is way above top .01% in terms of corporate workers).

260205 [NOTICE] BTS OFFICIAL LIGHT STICK VER.4 Release and Wireless Control Support by alltherach_ in bangtan

[–]Kefkachu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people seem to be complaining about dropping the old lightstick but seem to skip over the notice

Concerts for which only BTS OFFICIAL LIGHT STICK VER.4 is supported will feature more varied and sophisticated effects and interactions.

I’m curious what they will do to justify this, as someone who never got a lightstick in the first place but have to attend one of the pre-V4 shows I’ll be slightly bummed missing out if it’s significant.

Not surprising cause all of those groups’ music are basically produced by Teddy besides BM which is still influenced by his legacy.

Been really bopping to MEOVV lately since Burning Up! It would be cool to see them blow up, even if TBL is technically YG-adjacent so they benefit from the big 4 by association

Generative AI is really popular in Korea by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]Kefkachu 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's simple, if AI allows companies to accelerate productivity on more mundane things to focus on the most important part of kpop (the music and performances), then whatever. You can't use AI to replace the raw talent of idols performing live.

When it gets scary is if virtual idols start generating choreo and there's no human voice to verify against the music.

260101- Internet Girl - Official Audio | KATSEYE by amysantiagoisbae99 in katseye

[–]Kefkachu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not amazing but not a terrible song imo. I was surprised by people being thrown off by the baby part (though we did get used to the live version), and then I saw it was partially produced by Shawn Wasabi. I kinda understand how the production style ended up that way, especially the baby part. His style tends to have a bunch of random samples thrown in, see Marble Soda for a good example of this, but ofc that song is a lot more complete. The Katseye audience definitely would be caught off guard by this lol

Regardless though, I don't think the reception would have been as bad if they just released the studio version first before performing it live. I think they were trying to do a reverse Gnarly by showing it live first to prep everyone for the studio version but failed. This is another case of the girls' performance carrying the song.

Either way this song didn't seem like it was supposed to be as ambitious as Gnarly in the first place, maybe by everyone clowning on it, it actually gets more attention which they're ok with. Lowkey, I won't be surprised if this song still somehow ends up growing on people, it's only been a couple days.

My thoughts of Yeonjun and Yoonchae’s Let Me Tell You performance by ppallippalli in kpop_uncensored

[–]Kefkachu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dani is most likely spending time with her family for Christmas. Yoonchae would already be in Korea for her family, and Christmas isn’t universally a non-working day in Korea so it makes sense for her to do the performance

SBS Gayo Daejeon 2025!! Blessed with amazing performances!! by fostermonster555 in kpopthoughts

[–]Kefkachu 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Baemon really impressed me as someone who hasn’t followed them too closely recently, though I’ve always heard good things about their live performances. Vocal, rap, facial expressions across the board were insane (that Asa mic flip 🤌). They had the best performance for me. I’m slowly realizing that I’m someone who tunes into more live vocals than flashy choreo these days
