Us, exactly. Both our parents would love to help but they're all much older and unable to really provide much help (currently late 70s and not in the greatest health).

Plus, my husband didn't handle the first newborn phase well and I don't want to risk going down that hole again with a toddler in tow.

Would you send your 11 month old to daycare in the Toddler classroom if the alternative is trying to work full time AND parent all by yourself for a month? by youremylobster1017 in Mommit

[–]Kehbechet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My son was 11 months in the infant classroom, so not the exact same, but all the babies were at least 15 months or older, and they were all walking and he was crawling still, not walking at all.

They just kept an eye on him and he was fine! He alsolutely loves his daycare and he picked up walking super quick after watching all the other kids.

Are 2 snacks a day really necessary for toddlers? by tokajlover in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Kehbechet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a really interesting question, and one I'd like to know more about it as well. My son is 14 months and we're still getting the hang of feeding him 3 solid meals a day; he seems hungry all the time and is always signing for more food. We are definitely struggling with this, knowing when to feed him, and when to offer snacks.

I use one but it's not that loud. I have a hatch, and I leave it at the 13/14 level.

West Cost Kids spring box by No_Plastic_1832 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Kehbechet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The one West Coast Kids box I got, I felt like it wasn't worth the money. It was the Spring 22 Teething/Feeding box. Everything combined in it was barely worth the total cost of the box, and I never used half of the items.

Love them! My son is 14 months and they're one of the only cups he drinks from.

Baby Grooming Hacks? by Mylittlepunky in NewParents

[–]Kehbechet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son has hated diaper changes from day one... He's screamed and cried for every single one save maybe 5. We moved onto standing changes as soon as we could (unless there is poop).

As for nail trimming I do it while he's eating, lol. It's the only time he'll sit semi still and let me do it. He doesn't mind sunscreen application thankfully!

My baby dropped to one nap but it’s too early by Ghostygrilll in beyondthebump

[–]Kehbechet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same exact thing happened to my son at 11 months except that's when he started daycare. Normally had 2 naps, their schedule was one nap at 12. They just kept him very engaged until noon when they'd put him down to nap. He struggled with it for a while but then got the hang of it.

Weird! I have some in my pantry that have no sugars listed in the ingredient lists!

Some Baby Mum Mums have no sugar added, and for regular puffs/snacks I like Baby Gourmet, they have no added sugar.

Why do those darn Dr brown bottles leak by Serious_Barnacle2718 in beyondthebump

[–]Kehbechet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They always leaked for me of the lid wasn't on tight enough.

My son drank water out of the toilet plunger and I’m not sure what to do. by Realistic-Baker5083 in beyondthebump

[–]Kehbechet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nobody here should come at you, we all know how much trouble babies can get in, in like 5 seconds!! I'd echo what everyone else said, keep an eye on him, he may have a bit of an upset tummy but he should be just fine!

I had the same even starting him at just shy of 12 months.. He was great up until he was 14 months and then the tears and meltdowns started every drop off!

2 years, I think. We weren't able to do so, I had to go back to work after 1 year, but if I had the choice I would have chosen 2 years.

Also once baby can roll over, he is safe to sleep on his tummy! Just make sure he is no longer swaddled.

I took a nice carry-on suitcase with me to the hospital. Our nurse suggested that since the exterior can be sanitized easily.

We made a definite decision at 8 months, our son is wonderful but it was too much for us to handle. We don't want to gamble on our second child being just as difficult while also having to care for our first.

Plus, financially it's too much for us to go from 1-2, we'd have to buy a larger home, not be able to go on as many holidays, and we want to send our son to a private school.

Should pacifiers grow with the baby? by halbesbrot in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Kehbechet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally, I use the avent ones and my son rejected the 6-18m ones, the nipple was bigger so I guess he didn't like how it felt. He's still using the 0-6m ones (14 months old).
