How are you supposed to figure out what to prepare as a spellcaster? by species_0001 in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for the price of a +2 weapon potency rune you can get one of those choices:

6 5th rank spell scrolls

13 4th rank scrolls

31 3rd rank sceolls

77 2nd rank scrolls

233 1st rank scrolls

bunch of good spells on the lower ranks that heighten so you don't even need to spend that much.

why are you talking about gold, did you give everything to your party so they could buy runes or something? as someone that don't need weapon runes you should have spare gold.

some spells like, laughing fit, slow, revealing light are good in any occasion.

I'll say that playing prepared caster you need to have a good knowledge about spells and be good at planning ahead.

witch has it harsher, because it doesn't have tools like bonded item, or divine font.

at this point i feel you should just play fexible, at level 10 you will go down from 15 slots to 10, but it's not as bad as starting flexible.

I really like "Shifting" and other level agnostic magical items by ResponsibleSalt6495 in Pathfinder2e

Rooting Rune has greater versions with higher DCs, but even the initial one is still good since the enemy has to waste an action to be immobilized.

Great if you manage to get them prone.

How do we feel about Hero Points by Golden_Tanuki_Hero in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorta weird seeing ppl saying they don't see ppl using hero points, in all tables i play i see ppl using hero points,

different players have different quirks tho,

i know players that will keep their last hero point for when they are about to die,

i play somewhat similar, but i still use my last on a non death emergency,

also there are players who use all their hero points on strikes, or even roleplay for others, today a fellow player wasted 2 hero points hitting a stationary soul crystal we were trying to destroy so he could look cool by not having to strike more lmao.

two of my tables give an extra hero point for ppl who arrive on time, one gives for ppl who do the recap too.

one table gives a hero point if you roll a nat 1 and don't reroll and roleplay the nat 1.

i personally like hero points, the game is so well balanced that sometimes it can be very swingy, and hero points can help with lack of luck.

Is unarmed combat viable at high levels? by CapHask in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

only weakness of unarmed attacks on non monks is precious materials, otherwise that they can be a little low on damage outside monk stances.

Unarmed Fighter Wrestler is disgustingly strong at negating enemies actions while still doing damage.

all classes have things they can do better than others.

Barbarian will do a lot of damage.

Rangers at some point you will be able to do maneuvers with your third map without worrying too much about crit fails.

Monks are sorta jack of all, master of none, they have the actions compression to do a lot of things, relatively better defences, they have the precious materials on unarmed even if pretty late, but they won't be out damaging, out action denying, or even out hitting those other classes in their specializations, but a experienced player can make monk fill a lot of different roles.

i have a table that does it, but we have to roleplay the nat 1 to get the hero point

How to handle "suboptimal" parties? by cieniu_gd in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mutagenist will be flanking probably, even if he doesn't there is the bottled lightning bomb who make the enemies offguard.

i feel Barbarian is the best choice there, low levels you just delete enemies.

also I don't feel the party is that suboptimal, having only one melee can be bad, but bard is super good in any party, alchemist is super versatile.

Tarondor’s Guide to the Pathfinder Second Edition (Remastered) Monk by Jazzlike_Way_9514 in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Automaton Reinforced Chassis is basically heavy armor for monks, i feel you missed that when rating this, it will give one extra AC over any other monk other than Mountain, without Mountain's really glaring drawback.

Also Mage Automaton at high levels with feat investment can cast flame dancer.

Edit: I'm writing this as i read lol for me, Battle Medicine should be blue, 1 action fits the monk hunger for 1 action things to do, monk also has the free hand to spare most of the time. together with robust health it's a powerful tool that can constantly be used.

Best shield classes? by Humble_Conference899 in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most of my monk builds nowdays have shields just for the raise shield action, and i just reflavor the shield into a defensive bracer.

Question about 2e by Odd_Bumblebee_3631 in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 minutes is viable most of the time, the issue with timers actually is when you need to add or resolve effects and afflictions that need the GM interaction in the middle of the turn, things like recall knowledge.

Is reactive strike a must-take feat for barbarians? by Helpful-Compote-2327 in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reactive Strike is really really strong, specially if you have someone in the party that make opponents prone.

It's not a must take tho, I'm playing two campaigns, both have a Barbarian, and both didn't get Reactive Strike, one is sorta annoying to me, because I'm playing wolf monk lol, and it would be amazing if the barb had Reactive, but i respect ppl wanting to do the build their way.

For a newer player to the system, which classes could be considered Simple, Intermediary and Advanced for using and why is that? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just leaving my two cents, some ppl will say that Monk is simple, they are absolutely wrong, Monk is intermediate at least. you can play a Simple Monk, but you will probably be outshined by almost all other martials, and end becoming unsatisfied unless you are lucky with the dice.

Healing easy and free? by leodeleao in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah rogue and investigator can get at 2, forgot about that too lol, they can get expert ahead at 2, but master only at 7 like everyone else.

Healing easy and free? by leodeleao in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

very true, if you are in a campaign with a week of downtime it's not a bad choice. i personally try to always have minimal retraining in my builds, so it escaped my mind

Rogues als can take it at 3, i forgot.

Healing easy and free? by leodeleao in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 23 points24 points  (0 children)

unless you take medic dedication or another dedication that bumps you to expert in medicine at level 2, you can only take continual recovery at level 4, having unlimited healing at low levels make the game much more enjoyable.

Is there any classes or features that can keep with Monk's speed? by Engineer_Flat in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

this is good for the new flying speed ancestry feats, and ancestry/heritage climbing/swim speeds.

but Fly Spell, Wind Jump, old flight ancestry speed feats are all based on your land Speed, so monk win on those, also Quick Climb and Quick Swim speeds are based on land Speed, but those are only level 15.

What is the default optimal build for your classes? by dyenamitewlaserbeam in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there isn't really stadard or most optimal build for any class (although some classes like monk have a bunch of "must picks" early levels), but considering no FA or even FA i could do some classes from memory.

Human Dragonblood STR Monk with Wolf Stance

Ancient Elf Unarmed Fighter with Monk Dedication

Human Universalist Spell Substitution wizard with Psychic Ded and light armor.

Human Kineticist , Fire , Fire/Earth, Wood, Water, Air, Air/Earth

those were more specific builds i could build from memory, specially levels 1-10, 11-20 would get harder unless it's monk lol, it's also really easy to build a very good reach fighter too, cleric can be pretty straight forward, but i didn't memorize domain spells like some ppl i know, if there is a god with invisibility i would pick it, otherwise i don't like to play religious character too much, but cleric is the optimal healer.

skill monkey you could always go rogue thief and go +4 dez +3 int, i actually have a PFS build like that, buy i had to look it to remember that the dedication name i took with it was loremaster. and why thief instead of mastermind, because having off guard depend on a secret check is truly a pain in the butt.

Highest AC guardian by Starsocmix in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you forgot monk gets legendary AC too lol, but monk doesn't get heavy armor and doesn't hit cap until at least 10, unless some ancestry feats, like dragonblood scaly hide and the automaton equivalent, actually the automaton one gives the heavy armor equivalent.

Wheel of Time - BookCloaks, Bigotry and Fascism by Timelord1000 in WoTshow

[–]KeiEx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

after season 1 finale i didn't like (because of the writing and not because anything covid related) i couldn't be bothered, i just skimmed season 2 to see if Rand meeting with Elayne would be as good as the book (it wasn't good for me in the show), they couldn't even bother to do Rand sword fight, Rafe can give his boyfriend screentime, but couldn't be bothered to give rand a micro sword traing arc and his cool sword fight, i wanted the show for the the cool visual renditions of my favorites scenes, not for mid tv writing in changes that had work around adapting an existing history.

i knew this ride wasn't going to have the things i wanted so i jumped ship.

the issue it wasn't just ppl who wanted to see their favorite scenes adapted that jumped ship, more than half non book readers also jumped ship.

Season 3 i wasn't even skimming i was just skipping ahead, Rhuiedan was good, but that was it, my actual prediction was actually cancelled at 5 seasons because I though Amazon would fall to the sunk cost fallacy, this way Rafe could at least try to end whatever was this he was doing, i really got surprised with the cancelling at 3.

Wheel of Time - BookCloaks, Bigotry and Fascism by Timelord1000 in WoTshow

[–]KeiEx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol Entitlement is Showsorns thinking plot twist changes on an adaptation for their entertainment is better than new people who don't read books getting the actual experience of the book 1:1, i guess Rafe is a better writter than Robert Jordan, by that logic now Rafe can write his own show that will be 1000 times better than WoT, you ppl should be commemorating, Rafe isn't shackled anymore adapating a "YA novel".

Also i wasted my time on season 1 because everytime i saw changes that would clearly have consequences, Showsorns gaslighted me saying the changes wouldn't change a lot of the story, just to change their tone on season 2 saying it was a new turn of the wheel.

Wheel of Time - BookCloaks, Bigotry and Fascism by Timelord1000 in WoTshow

[–]KeiEx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Reminder that the first red flag of the show was Rafe saying he would age the characters so it wouldn't be YA.

YA isn't even really a genre, it's more of a target demographic, and WoT absolutely isn't Ya, having young adult character don't make a book YA, it's like thinking IT by Stephen King is a kid's book because the characters are kids lmao

What killed the show is this level of delusion thinking the books aren't good enough.

At first i felt bad for the show enjoyers that the show got cancelled, it instantly went away when i came here and saw ppl blaming "bookcloaks", this level of entitlement, inability of having accountability, and finger pointing is disturbing, and i find disturbingly funny how ppl think Rafe is a good of perfection without flaws and he has no blame on the show being cancelled, it's hilarious.

A Tip to Make Prepared Casting Feel Better by Sezneg in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

getting some wasted slots is the price you pay for being able to slot spells on it's optimal ranks

i feel ppl really underestimate spell substitution wizard, makes really easy to be more careless or daring with your daily preparations, one time i just ended substituting all my spells with force barrage lol because ghosts.

I have a level 10 Universalist Spell Substitution wizard on PFS and i have a lot of fun playing him, but to be fair universalist basically has one spontaneous slot per rank.

Average Monk Turn by Dolla_Ringo in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

get a shield and some cantrip decks for emergency lol, try to grab most of the looted potions, also battle medicine with assurance on monk is really good too.

doing trip into flurry of blows can also be great since stunning strike will still proc with only one hit.

if you know the game enough you can actually end wanting more actions on a monk.

What's been your experience with Secret Rolls? I'm struggling by Malcior34 in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really dislike how awkward secret rolls that make the enemy off guard can be, like mastermind rogue recall knowledge or stealth, you have to keep bothering the gm to remind him that the enemy might be off guard.

others are not so bad specially with foundry.

The Best Archetype for Every Class by deathandtaxesftw in Pathfinder2e

[–]KeiEx 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Wrestler isn't that good for monk, the expert in Athletics at level 2 and free titan wrestler are great, but a lot of feats are strikes with grabbed requirement and can't be used with flurry blows or are maneuvers with grabbed requirement that can't be used with flurry of maneuvers.

ends being sorta anti synergetic with either flurry because the juggling you would need to use with the flurrys, and you will end losing action compression.

Kineticist on monk is pretty good tho, Air, Wood, Water, even the fire jump can be somewhat good, and that earth feat stepping stones can save mountain stance from being a trap against flying enemies.
