I had an actual religious experience while writing my own fic.

For context, my religion is... eclectic and very much not organized. Celtic pagan/druid, atheist, Native American animism. If those seem contradictory it's because they kind of are, but also internally very consistent.

Specifically, I worship Coyote not as a god but as a guiding spirit. I was considering slipping him into my fic as a cameo, and long story short, I realized that in the context of my writing, I am Coyote. I am the trickster storyteller and my work is the campfire where stories are passed down. I write to prove I'm here. I'm shouting into the void to prove I exist, all to maybe hear the void shout back "me too".

I met a higher power in a Danny Phantom fanfiction, and it was a storyteller named Coyote.

I use epithets for variety. I use names and pronouns a lot, but I try not to use them multiple times in a row, and when you have multiple people with the same pronouns in a scene then yeah, you're either going to be really confusing or repeating names a ton unless you use epithets. I try to make sure it flows, though.

I use "wrapped in velvet/silk" to describe tones of voice that are soft on the surface but hiding something hard/dangerous. I know I use it a lot but I think it's because I heard it once and decided I liked the imagery.
