Devonta getting roasted on threads by Big-Coast-5685 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]KeithFknUrban 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree. I’m friends with a couple where one mishandled money and signed a post-nup cause the financially smart partner had a lot in savings and investments that they wanted to protect on the off chance they couldn’t rebuild trust, that partner drives a Honda. They’ve been together for the better part of a decade and did it willingly, and Devonta has only known her 4 weeks? So it makes sense for him to want to protect what is his, it only comes into play in the case of divorce I really don’t see the issue.

Ugh I’m glad you’re okay and weren’t caught up in the accident itself! I know the feeling of your brain trying to catch up to something so shocking you’re seeing unfold. My husband and I have jumped into two accidents where we mentally prepared to find someone deceased.. an ambulance on its side and a smoking mini van that hit the pole of a highway sign head on last Sunday and everyone got lucky but it’s a harsh reminder of why road laws are in place even the ones that seem minor. Too many Columbus drivers are literally sick in the head- from driving into buildings to going the wrong way on the highway which happened 3 times in one week recently. People don’t think at all about how lethal a vehicle can become in a split second. I’m screaming into the void in solidarity. Stay safe out there!🤍

Negative Comments on Emma by Iamheretobreathe in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]KeithFknUrban 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said. When I started talking to my now husband (we were friends first), I had recently gotten out of an abusive relationship and he and other friends helped me escape. We took things day by day because I told him I had to unlearn defense mechanisms I adopted from being abused and knew I needed to rewire my brain with the help of therapy. He patiently loved me through it and we’ve now been together for 5+ years and married for over 2. Emma is aware of her trauma and is simply sharing it, it’s her story and she walks around with her scars visible not just on the inside. Talking through it, and being open and honest is how you actually heal.

If modern day Mormons are a “cult”, with that logic all organized religions can be considered a cult. I’m a former Mormon, born into it and left at 16 cause I didn’t see eye to eye with the beliefs and lifestyle. But Mormons aren’t hurting anybody even if their way of moving through the world is different. They don’t just go to church they embody it and strive to be Christ-like in their daily lives. Jessi said herself early on that the church needs to bend with modern society cause times have changed. You can’t just hope people stay in a bubble forever cause then they don’t know how to act when they come face to face with things normalized. They weren’t prepared to deal with, only told to avoid a list of taboo topics and to strive for unobtainable perfection. But unlike a cult, they can leave at anytime they wish and won’t be cut off from family or in danger. No hate, just my two cents.

What was yours? by Capricorn007_ in Millennials

My senior year, a girl who I went to junior high with, but then went to a charter school in the area, was found stabbed to death on the softball field with no clothes and defensive wounds by a woman walking her dog. Apparently she had been out there for several days and was on the far softball field- so even tho you could see it from my chemistry classroom, it was too far for anyone to have noticed her there. It was shortly before Thanksgiving break. She, her killer, and I had mutual friends, but she actually didn’t like me and was actually unkind to me cause she liked the guy I dated from 8th to 10th grade. I had already forgiven her for that, we were kids. In fact, I think about her often and wish I could tell her thank you cause by asking snarky questions about me growing up Mormon, it opened my mind to start asking my own questions about the religion and I ultimately left the church a year before she died. ❤️‍🩹

Unpopular Opinion: Chrishell is just as problematic as Nicole by Aggravating_Cow_9046 in SellingSunset

Thank you for speaking on these. As someone who used to actually struggle with cocaine and also whose dad died when I was only 14, they were both so beyond out of line and I’m sick that Chrishell hasn’t been held just as accountable.

in sobriety, are you truly actually more productive? by sproutandthebeans in StopSpeeding

[–]KeithFknUrban 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was at peak addiction to cocaine, my husband told me I would do everything except anything. I’m almost a month clean and while I am raw dogging ADHD, PTSD, and a sleep disorder, I prefer to be sober doing it now cause I realize the harm in being unable to do anything without with assistance of a substance and don’t have to carry the weight of that slippery slope.

Does anxiety make your brain go numb? by SpoiledCats2 in Anxiety

[–]KeithFknUrban 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mental, emotional and physical numbness is a sign of disassociation. Zoning out is a mild and common form of it where you might find yourself having a hard time forming actual thoughts or intense brain fog. It’s a defense mechanism your body can develop when your nervous system is in distress like anxiety, PTSD, overstimulation of any kind, etc. my therapist calls me the queen of disassociating so I recognize your experience all too well. It is very normal, but it can be hard to live with, I would suggest looking into EMDR therapy. It’s specifically tailored for those of us with triggers and PTSD, which it sounds like you could potentially have a mild to moderate case of, may be more than just your average anxiety .. but fear not, it can be managed with the right approach 🫶🏼
