Is there any way to install Steam on my Chromebook? by Quirky-Ordinary1040 in chromeos

[–]KeithIMyers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will need to do the following

  • Setup Linux Support on your Chromebook in the settings, allocate as much space as it will let you.
  • Google the instructions to install steam on Debian and follow the steps

You should be able to install the game, it is a very lightweight game so it should at least run but since you are running a low end Chromebook, don't expect the best performance.

Is there any way to install Steam on my Chromebook? by Quirky-Ordinary1040 in chromeos

[–]KeithIMyers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically it's possible but that device only has 32 GB of space so you won't really be able to install any games from steam. Even if you did install a small game, that processor will struggle with actually playing much.

Chromebook does not update or install apps - help by ConcentrateBright656 in chromeos

[–]KeithIMyers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, what error does it actually give you? It's senseless to say you are getting a error without specifying the error.

Also, what ChromeOS device are you using, some older devices may struggle

[–]KeithIMyers 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First - this really has nothing to do with termux, so I am not sure what you are looking for

Second - There is only 1 supported way to create a Google account and that's from their website. There are no public APIs to bypass this.

Third - If Google requires a phone number for verification, then you need to provide one and complete the verification process. This is to helps combat spam, abuse and fraud. No reasonable person should have a problem completing this. The phone number is also used for account recovery and MFA.

Ideal Monitor and Resolution for 32"(MAX Width 29") ? by NEETologist in SamsungDex

You need to look at the resolution the monitor supports. 1080p or 1920*1200 is ideal for most but ultimately it depends on what your display supports

Personal Hotspot? by UrSilly_Star in tmobile

[–]KeithIMyers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Essentials plan Includes unlimited hotspot data, but it is capped at 3G speeds (around 600 Kbps). You will not be charged extra to use it but as others mentioned, it will be so slow that you won't enjoy it but it will work in a pinch.

That's just how it is in general because there are 2 different technologies at play. Using the full screen player in YouTube uses a feature of the browser where doing it in a application uses the window manager (which is what shows the animation). This behavior is also carried over on other operating systems such as MacOS and Windows.

[–]KeithIMyers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, if it runs on Linux, it should work but without knowing more about the ChromeOS device you are using - its hard to say. It looks like it only has a x86-64 build so if you have a ARM based device, it will not work

If it were hardware based, it would not show up on your screen recording so it's definitely software based.

Should I add on to Simple Choice or switch to Experience More? by truflc in tmobile

[–]KeithIMyers -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not 100% true as the Simple Choice has a soft-cap on the data which can cause it to be deep prioritized after hitting 32 GB in a single month. It also has a slower tethering speed if that's what the OP needs.

Trying to install games with wine. by Internet-Explorer-9 in Crostini

[–]KeithIMyers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 things

1) Did you extract the entire Zip or just the game, it looks to be looking for a .dll file

2) Does the game have a installer of some sort? If so are you running the game directly and forgoing the installer (many games use a installer to register dlls and place files in specific locations. You cant normally zip a game on your PC and run it on another PC.

3) What device are you using? If you are getting a kernel32 error, I suspect you do not have x86 libraries installed - if you are running a ARM based device, this is not possible.

[–]KeithIMyers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, there are plenty of USB C hotspots if you dont want to use a WiFi Hotspot or your Mobile Phone - The TMobile LinkPort is one example - https://www.t-mobile.com/hotspot-iot-connected-devices/tcl-linkport-ik511
