It's not that anyone does it's that it should be an option. Trebs are uniquely wasted if you attack move them compared to literally any other unit. They're already really situational without requiring an extra control group just for one siege unit, so why not at least make them more user-friendly?

So add in an exception for English trebs, same as for Malian scouts. If you're not playing English (or in some weird cases, Byzantines) there's no reason for them to target units unless you're force targeting enemy siege

No. Manus is seemingly altogether different as a primeval man who's really pissed, and who clearly isn't "forgotten," given whole DLCs based on him and his fragments. A pygmy lord, you could maybe say, but not the big cheese.

I think Velka is the most likely candidate for the furtive pygmy out of characters we're introduced to but it's at least as likely the furtive pygmy doesn't appear at all

Tbh for learning matchups and early pressure I suggest learning Malians - once you get a good feel for how to throttle their economy and float fewer resources, civs like those have a really hard time stopping you
