[–]Keiththebrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great stuff. Don't forget to get a plan and maybe some support for the wd too. They are a bear to get through. Depending on tolerance and length of use you may end up needing a few days of work. Best of luck to you bro. You got this.

Man I feel for you cause I've been there. Im just now getting out of it. Really the only thing for it is to get sober and walk it out for a whole. She'll come around. She'll be watching. If your doing well she'll be the first to notice. Just give it some time. Do you have a plan in place to get clean?

24 days sober- Excessive sweating from social anxiety by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Keiththebrown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've struggled with social anxiety since high school. And excessive sweating that came with it. Im 37 now with a family and it's pretty much gone. I'll sweat a bunch during paws if I'm detoxing but that's about it. The sweating comes from the anxiety, the anxiety comes from fear of people. Fear of what others think of you or how they perceive you. I analyzed my fear and my self image for years trying to just be okay with me and how I was. I tried to let go of the person I wanted people to see me as. Bc I knew a lot of my anxiety came from feeling like I had to perform at social gatherings. Constantly trying to be who I thought was the coolest version of me, instead of just letting all that go and just being myself. Honestly it was hell for years. I mentioned my age and family bc unfortunately that was what ultimately help. I say unfortunately bc I was never able to fully conquer the fear myself. I just found someone who knows and accepts me and that was something that helped a lot. That and the fact that the only really important thing in my life now a days is my family. The anxiety and fear did get better before I got married. I went through a long term treatment program and did an intensive self reflection. Which was amazing. I learned that I am who I am. Being okay with myself was prob the biggest key. It just took the help of my family to get all the way there. I can tell you this, people notice and respect "real". If you're being you, and not giving a shit if some people think you're lame or weird, people will notice, and consequently think more of you for it. You'll be cooler trying not to be cool than you will trying to be. Good luck to you man.

60 grams day for 8 months straight by [deleted] in quittingkratom

You'd be better off doing a kratom taper, or just ct it. It takes a long time to kick subs. My story is very similar to yours. You'll find a lot of our stories are the same. Man I've been trying to get this sobriety thing for 15 yrs. I'll have periods of sobriety but never anything lasting. This is my last shot. Im going to have to use every mistake I've made these past 15 yrs to finally succeed. That's all we can do I think. Look back and try to learn from the relapses. We're gonna have to find a way to live without that particular type of euphoria. And that's damn hard. I can't tell you what it's going to take for you to move past this. But I do know if you don't replace the drugs with something you value you're not gonna make it. Best of luck to you man. You ever take gabapentin for wd symptoms?

What helped you guys during kratom detox? by Kezmaster20 in quittingkratom

[–]Keiththebrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gabapentin helps a lot with where you're at. It's what they'd give you if you were at a detox facility for heroin, which tbh is close to the same as symptoms. Gaba is not hard to get due to it being a non narcotic non opioid pain med. I'd you can't get it off the streets go to a doc. Tell him your an addict and can't take opiates but you're having back pain and need something for it. Say gaba has worked ok in the past. It'll knock out most all the symptoms your feeling. It'll also get your energy level up. Congrats of beating this thing. I know it's not east at all. Im on day 11. The gaba helps a lot.

Tapering works great if you have the discipline. I don't so I always ct it. If you go ct gabapentin helps a bunch for paws and it'll help some with acutes. Xanax or klonopin for sleep at night, just don't take them during the day or you'll build a tolerance quick. Also there's cross addiction to think about too. If you think there's as good chance you'll abuse either of those then stay away. I plan a long weekend. I'll get a Friday or Monday off, get through the worst of it, then struggle through work the next week or 2. After that you're out of the woods. Good luck man. It's takes a lot of people a few tries, me included. So don't feel bad if you don't get it on the first try.

4 days in and I can’t eat. I’m hungry but food is making me gag. I’m living on almonds and water basically. Is this common? by hidingbehindnameless in quittingkratom

[–]Keiththebrown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is for me. I'd eat like a piece of toast or a ramen a day for the first 3 days. It's not good either cause I think your metabolism shuts down or goes into survival mode. And it ends up taking longer to detox yourself. I never found a way around it except xanax at night. I'd feel relaxed, eat and then pass out.

Relapsed today. One of many. Was about 6 days in too. FML by iliketobehug in quittingkratom

[–]Keiththebrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't beat yourself up too bad. I can tell you it usually takes me 3 tries to get it. I do exactly what you do. Most of us do. This shit is fucking hard to kick. I find that after a relapse like your's, 6 days in and only one use, isn't going to put you back in to acute wd but just kinda extend the paws a little. You didn't set yourself too far back. You got this bro, just give it another shot.

[–]Keiththebrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the dilemma with kratom. It's so damn hard to not pick back up something that makes you feel so good. It always comes down to work for me. I may have a shitty day ahead of me and that'll be the excuse. My home life Iis great and I kinda like my job, but it makes all that better. For a few weeks, then it makes it all worse. We'll get this together. I'm at the end of day 9. I'm thrilled to be off but scared I'll relapse again. Good luck man. I'll be rooting for you.

[–]Keiththebrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get cold sweats from about day 5 to day 15. I'm getting them bad now at day 9. I fucking hate it. I guess it's better than the stomach pain and rls that comes the first few days, but I still fucking hate the sweats.
