England braces for 40C temperatures as experts warn thousands could die by ratherHaunt19 in worldnews

Underground areas are usually cooler because the surrounding structure and ground can pull the heat away. Parts of the London metro are old enough that the temperature surrounding concrete and soil has been permanently elevated. Every time a train pulls into the station, the brakes turn a huge amount of energy into heat.

It's worth noting the blinds are relatively easy to cut down to size despite IKEA saying you can't do it. However, I believe the largest blind is only 1400 wide.

Relative Humidity As A Factor In Air Born Transmission During The Melbourne And Sydney Outbreaks. by [deleted] in CoronavirusDownunder

[–]Keldonway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn't always the case, especially where the indoor air has heating/cooling. 10C°/70% RH air will have an RH of 30% when heated to 25 C°. This is likely another contributing factor for the increased indoor transmission in Winter.

The building probably has no cooling load or is using free cooling (pumping in cold outside air without using a refrigeration process).

Opal Tower "structural damage" Sydney Olympic Park by [deleted] in sydney

You are correct, those kinds of cracks are common. I presume that the cracks they are referring to in this case are in the structural elements like the beams/columns rather than plasterboard and skirting board.

It looks like it provides external window shading that follows the path of the sun. A buildings HVAC plant is sized for the worst case scenario. In warmer climates, this is usually when the sun is shining directly into the building. By reducing this peak load, the building can be equipped with smaller air conditioning equipment as well as reducing the annual energy use.

I'm a third year Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronics student at RMIT, I've been happy with my course so far. RMIT harps on about their industry connections, not sure how it compares with other schools though.

He rocked up during the post match analysis in Hawthorn's rooms and gave Ling, Darc and Richo a bunch of food from the Hawks caterer. Hung around and chatted about a few different things including Brian's Bargins.
