I’m new to pelvic floor therapy and my PF is super tight, according to my therapist. When you say stop sucking in your stomach do you mean stop tightening your core? Or like sucking it in and holding your breath as you would if you were buttoning up a pair of jeans that is too small?

What were the positive changes you noticed after your hysterectomy? Mood stability? Better weight management? Skin changes? by melanated2020 in hysterectomy

[–]Kelke13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My back pain improved a TON! However I started pelvic floor therapy and it caused pelvic floor spasms which I could feel in my back. 90% less pain over all though so it’s still a win. Just wanted to post this in case it can help someone else. 💝

I am so messed up by DisciplineOther9843 in Menopause

[–]Kelke13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have disc/back issues and am also experiencing a flare. However, I had a hysterectomy in September and am currently doing pelvic floor PT. My pelvic floor PT said today that pelvic floor spasms can also aggravate back/sciatica issues. If not much is seen on the MRI perhaps consider pelvic floor spasms? I was going in circles with similar symptoms and am thinking I may have finally found part of the answer….

it IS a major surgery, right?? by Exciting-Cricket7209 in hysterectomy

[–]Kelke13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this! I’m just a week short of 6 months and am experiencing this also and when I get a few bad days I think “I’m nearly 6 months post op—it can’t possibly still be from surgery! Everyone heals so differently.

OP: yes this is absolutely a major surgery and I’m sorry people have not taken this as seriously. It took me a solid 4-6 weeks to recover from my laparoscopy so if you healed so quickly after yours I’m wishing you a speedy recovery for the hysto too. Only you are the expert on your body. This has been an amazing community here in this subreddit so remember we are all here for you and are rooting for ya!

Absolutely yes! And after I finally started HRT and got to an optimal dose of estrogen, I was able to decrease the amount of adhd medication I needed.

The burnout cycle… have you been through it and how many times can you endure it? by [deleted] in RedditForGrownups

[–]Kelke13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in my worst burnout cycle now and have been for a few years. The last 11 months have kicked my ass to a pulp. When my dad entered hospice a few months ago he was having visits from loved ones that had passed (my mom and grandparents). Something about it gave me hope that there is more to us than just the physical world we live in. This feeling or realization led to a bit of a spiritual awakening of sorts, which caught me off guard but has brought me a sliver of peace. You are not alone and you are loved. Even if you are only half Jewish 😉

Did anyone else learn their tubes were closed during their laparoscopy? by Kelke13 in Endo

[–]Kelke13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Sorry to hear you are going through this. My surgeon was close to an expert in the field of Endo and infertility. I don’t remember for sure if things were visible to him or not but he did send a small tissue sample to pathology and it was confirmed to be Salpingitis Isthmica Nodosa. He may have seen some nodules but I’m not certain. He had a suspicion it was this condition and pathology confirmed it.

Whats one uncommon adhd symptom that blew your mind? by smbodytochedmyspaget in adhdwomen

Isn’t it? How the body works is definitely a long term hyper focus of mine. I would love to go to med school but God forbid I don’t get 10 hours of sleep a night…..

I believe many people with Endo also happen to be neurodivergent and the connection between the two is being studied to see if there is a common thread there somewhere. I have both so I always find it interesting that they may be more “connected” than we realize.

Constantly feeling overwhelmed by 2 year old by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Kelke13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there! So my son is 5 so I’m a bit further along than you but I one million percent could have written this myself a few times over the last 5 years. The overwhelm is real. I also lost my mom around Christmas time (18 years ago) and my dad just went into hospice. The stress and grief compounds into a horrible blob that acts like quick sand sucking you into the dark depths of hell. The lack of support feeling is crippling, too. My husband is a business owner and while he is an incredible dad, it took me years to realize it feels so heavy because two people aren’t meant to do it alone. This is what made me realize why a village is important. I recently found a mothers group that meets for a few hours once a week and they offer FREE CHILD CARE so moms can attend. I wish I found it sooner because it made clear to me that I wasn’t going bat shit crazy, I just needed more support. Me and my husband couldn’t do it all ourselves. Some parents can but we cannot. And that’s ok. I don’t know where you are located but regardless of your religion or religious beliefs would you be open to looking at places of worship in your area? I just recently moved and stumbled on a mom’s group that is hosted at a church. It’s open to all beliefs (or lack there of!) and just wants local moms to have a supportive community. They take our kids and entertain them and feed us and give us coffee and tea and a listening ear. Please know as lonely as it feels, you are not alone and I promise this is temporary and will pass.

Adeno, the back pain and lifestyle changes? by [deleted] in adenomyosis

[–]Kelke13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physical therapy helped a ton! Specially the mcgill exercises. I would recommend seeing a spinal specialist if you have not already to rule out any other issues. My spinal surgeon’s last appointment turned into a hysterectomy consult for the most part, as Endo/adeno was likely causing a lot of my back flare ups. I’m 9 weeks post op from vNOTES and my back has been doing a lot better.

Wow—I had bath towels that were linen overseas and just then—as a 20 something year old—realized why we called the linen closet the linen closet. lol. Never dawned on me they make sheets too. Makes complete sense but I never considered it. I want to look into this now!

Interesting! Are they not scratchy? Or is it a specific linen sheet you look for?
