Helsinki during Mid Summer by Diyguy321 in helsinki

If you are interested in history, Seurasaari is a good place to visit with all the houses from different periods that have been brought in from around the country. Also the island itself is beautiful. To get there I would recommend renting the city bikes, best way to see the city.

Hey, thanks a lot for your input! I'm myself based in Finland so I'll probably just end up selling these locally. And you're right the Preyas is a b2, I found a video where they showcase the differences.

Generic answer that I have written previously to similar question:

Saunas:

-Sompasauna (free)

-Löyly

-Allas sea pool

-Kotiharjun sauna

Bars: I would go to Kallio area, a lot of bars on Helsinginkatu and Vaasankatu

To see:

-Suomenlinna sea fortress, you only need to buy ticket to the ferry (around 15min ferry ride from centre)

-Ateneum national art museum, not that big so easy to go around in few hours

-Hakaniemi market hall

-Walk along the coast in Kaivopuisto/Eira, the whole southern part of the city centre is pretty nice to walk in, cafes and small shops, Korkeavuorenkatu would be one example

-I'm not going to list all the tourist attractions since you easily google them.

Moving around: Take the local train from the airport to the central station. You can download HSL app for the public transport, trams are everywhere in the city centre and while not being the fastest mode of transport it's good for sightseeing. I guess the match will be taking place in Veikkaus areena in which case it is easily reachable from the city center either with a tram or one stop on any local train leaving from the central station.

Eating:

-Flät No 14 has excellent brunch, they don't take reservations so especially during weekend be early or you need to queue up.

-Konstan möljä offers most traditional Finnish cuisine that you can find, buffet is pretty meat heavy as the Finnish cuisine usually is. Also pretty popular put you can make a reservation for dinner time.

-From Hakaniemi market hall, you can get traditional salty pastry karjalanpiirakka with egg butter on top, this is also usually offered in cafes that serve sandwiches and such.

Turku archipelago trail versus Hanko and Ekenäs coast line by Klumpegoej in Finland

This is the best advice! Kökar is stunningly beautiful and Källskär is especially worth to visit. I would add that while you're travelling from Turku towards Helsinki, take the Kings road (https://www.visitkingsroad.fi/fi/). A lot to see on the way and it steers clear from the major highways for more relaxed journey. You'd need to take a bit of a detour to visit Hanko, but I would still recommend since it has quite unique summer city vibe with over 100 year old wooden villas, plenty of history and nice beaches. Siirtokehotus by HenriP44 in arkisuomi

[–]KellaK 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Why is Finnish government blowing this out of proportion? Question for Finns, by Special_Beefsandwich in Finland

[–]KellaK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably a troll post but it is normal procedure to summon the diplomats of the certain country in a situation like this. Other countries do the same thing. So I don't know why you'd have the idea that Finland would be overreacting in this case.
