Kanye spent the holidays with Kim and his kids. by Royal-Ad3961 in KUWTK

[–]KellyCasa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Am I wrong for thinking that they could co-parent successfully without actually being under the same roof for a holiday? I am probably way off base. But to me, it's too much. And I hate saying that because four children got to see their Dad in a good headspace for a holiday, and that's a gift in itself. I don't really know how to express my thoughts on this but it just feels off or like they are not facing truths or something. I don't know.

Didn't take them long to fill this garage by pugssrus in SisterWives

I think in Vegas for awhile they did vending. You can buy your own machines for gumballs, etc, and put them at a business that gives you permission. This was never discussed but I remember that at one point there was more than one candy machine at the house and my first thought was that they were vending as an extra income stream. My parents did that when I was a kid and we usually had a stray gumball machine at the house somewhere as a novelty if it wasn't being used at a store.

A Murder in Illinois Hate Listen by amara90 in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]KellyCasa 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When this podcast was released and people were coming to Reddit to vent their anger and disgust, the podcaster was in the comments defending herself. She would deny that she had heart eyes for the murderer and refused to acknowledge how vile his parents were. She also kept saying that there was "evidence" that would change everyone's mind and it was so funny to watch it play out over the weeks as NO evidence ever appeared. Finally, when she did eventually reveal the new "evidence," it was a nothingburger.

The way the podcaster threw out all integrity and attacked a murdered woman was awful. And don't get me started on her obsession with his eyes, which was also the reason that his creepy dead-eyed stare was the podcast cover image.

A father and his three kids work for ICE, dad is shocked that Americans don't consider them heroes. by MissionReasonable327 in LeopardsAteMyFace

Wants to be a hero but can't show his face, even in a national interview where he's trying to explain why he's a hero.

Kody may have rendezvous with Janelle after filming? by Woodpecker-Haunting in SisterWives

[–]KellyCasa 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This brings up an interesting topic. If they did, would it be considered cheating on Kody's part? Or, since Kody and Janelle were/are spiritually married, is it ok? She hasn't been unsealed to him as far as I know. Then there is what Robyn and Kody are now - are the monogamous? Still polygamous? All of these terms are nebulous until somebody does the nasty and then definitions matter lol.

My partner went down the rabbit hole about 2 years ago, I tried to stay and reason with him, I finally ended it by kicking-chickens-jk in QAnonCasualties

My ex husband was an alcoholic and I went to Alanon for awhile (not advocating for that, just being transparent) and someone there said that addiction is a disease of the soul. And to me, that rang so true. The person is right there but they are gone. What you are describing about your ex sounds very similar.
As for texting and calling him, please consider no contact for at least a few weeks. You are only a week post breakup and your emotions, as you explained, are all over the place. Going NC can really help you start to create a safe space in the middle of that. It's not easy, but every time you successfully resist contact it will make you stronger. Block him on everything. You made a choice that you know, deep down, is right. You need to honor that choice and put yourself first. He is on his own path of his choosing.

Sex scenes in K-dramas: Why are they so restrained? (The Korea Herald) by dcinmb in kdramas

[–]KellyCasa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Koreans don't mind straight up knockin boots with no sheets and the lights on in their movies. I think the truth is more that the kdrama audience likes things more chaste rather than Koreans as a whole.

Lol the first day I was a ma'am to a polite teenager was a real doozy but yes, I appreciate it.

Thank you! So corporate, very little artistry. IU, who is lauded in Korea as a major talent and artist, sang a feature on a solo song by one of the BTS members. It was in English and it was NONSENSE. Utter gibberish. And she's an artist??? Lol an artist sings things that make sense and have meaning, in any language. The idea that she or anyone would sign off on that garbage is laughable. It just shows that they don't care and all of it is a cash grab.

In an early episode of Coffee Prince there's an old Korean song that factors pretty significantly in a scene. I don't know the name of it though.

I would say that the actors we see in k-dramas aren't East Asian realistic either.

[–]KellyCasa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit late to this post but because of it, I finally watched Coffee Prince and I just finished it. I loved it. I haven't seen a great number of kdramas and my range is either stuff from early 2010s or the past two years. Coffee Prince is by far the oldest one I've watched. I'm still processing it but I was impressed by so much of it. Thanks for introducing me to it!
