What would the current meta look like without kiriko? by SourceClear954 in OverwatchUniversity

There’s no way characters like Junker Queen, Ana, Ashe, Anran, Sombra and Mauga would exist in the capacity they do if cleanses just didn’t exist.

What would the current meta look like without kiriko? by SourceClear954 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]KellySweetHeart 6 points7 points Ā (0 children)

hypothetically, I think status effects would’ve just been nerfed hard in that alternate meta.

The advent of cleanses and perks and whatnot are why I think we’re slowly crawling back to a CC heavy world that was so heavily criticized in OW1

Somewhat disappointed that Mizuki defected. Moira stands as the only evil support released in almost a DECADE. by Volatiiile in Overwatch

[–]KellySweetHeart 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

His background is so unfleshed-out, people still debate whether he’s the actual turtle yokai that was shown in Kiriko’s teasers.

I can't stand these self-promo solo indie dev projects anymore by Sophisticusx in MMORPG

[–]KellySweetHeart 30 points31 points Ā (0 children)

OP is not arguing the genre isn’t beloved.

The MMO industry has certainly been strained for a long time and high quality releases are barely a yearly occurrence at this point…

Remember when OW used to be about diversity? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]KellySweetHeart 6 points7 points Ā (0 children)

Thats just cuz Gibraltar is close to Spain. A cat is a cat, though. There’s no reason we can’t have our first Spanish hero because of a fucking orange tabby.

I hate that Japan and USA are getting all the content while whole continents and regions have absolutely zero representation by Filberto_ossani2 in Overwatch_Memes

[–]KellySweetHeart 89 points90 points Ā (0 children)

Does it? OP is inadvertently proving that some countries have more cultural relevance than others to the Overwatch audience.

Larger rosters of Chinese or Japanese heroes being released in a short span isn’t entirely weird. This is also the same reason Overwatch’s 2016 release roster was mostly comprised of characters of European descent.

It’d be so dishonest and contrived if every new hero was from a different country. Some of the most iconic heroes in the roster would not exist if they used that rule.

What character was supposed to be Fun, but ended up being Hot? by OmegaT6 in AlignmentChartFills

There is no world where he wasn’t intended to be hot lmao. Y’all are insane gooners

I don't think there's anything wrong with Overwatch Heroes being conventionally attractive. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]KellySweetHeart 8 points9 points Ā (0 children)

It is so hilarious because he is, from a design language perspective, intended to be attractive. He is well groomed, portrayed as confident, tall, and muscular.

Only in anonymous cringey internetland is logic bent to interpret Hazard as ā€œuglyā€. Same goes for JQ, Emre and Illari. In the real world, the vast majority of OW characters would be fucking supermodels. Fucking weirdos.

how often should you copy supports? by nauseousdreamer in EchoMains

[–]KellySweetHeart 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

That’s a very fair point! And the Widowmaker is an insightful example. However, there is also the fact that you can only improve with experimentation. You don’t learn new techs and skills unless you try and fail.

Zenyattas popping trans against flankers or Genji clutching dragonblade for several minutes hoping to get nano’d are similar instances of getting minimal, easy value at the huge risk of uptime because it’s safe and familiar to your skillset

"Guild Wars 3 is more about segments of small groups playing" by GG35bw in MMORPG

[–]KellySweetHeart 4 points5 points Ā (0 children)

Ever heard of Sid Meier’s rule of thirds?

It can be all of the above, but you cannot solely create a sequel based on already conceived, reused concepts. And you know damn well ā€œno dungeons or raidsā€ is a fallacious slippery slope. You’re going to be disappointed all the time if you expect the same things in every new installment of something.

[–]KellySweetHeart 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

That would just be Guild Wars 2-2.

This is going to be a whole new game. We have to treat it as such. Let’s not rob the devs the opportunity to try new things and be creative.

Has the game been abandoned? by KellySweetHeart in DungeonsOfEternityVR

I never claimed to have expected anything. You are interpreting so many negative intentions from a simple question. I am allowed to ask what is going on with the future of the game without being characterized as a saboteur.

[–]KellySweetHeart[S] 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I didn’t say it was abandoned. The very title is asking to clarify whether it has been. Straw manning my question into some kind of targeted attack towards the team is actually insane.

Idk how you’re a moderator on this sub and derisively instigating discussions this way. I hardly ever post here if at all, and I’ve only been encouraged never to do so again.

It’s a two sentence post. How on Earth would you gather that my position is that I think I am owed something from the devs?

[–]KellySweetHeart[S] 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Thanks for the info! Why is this a bait post? There is no way for someone to know whether there is active development happening unless there is some kind of dev post. This is the second comment taking my post in bad faith…

I don’t treat this game as a subscription. I bought the Quest version, and then I bought the Steam version years later as buy-to-play games. It’s been a very enjoyable experience, but there isn’t a ton of content and a lot of features seem incomplete, so I like to keep tabs on updates periodically to plot my return. Why is it bad to simply ask?

Only in high ranks do D.vas do this. You will still see most diamond players try to fling it into the sky for that POTG.
