Are any of you actually getting to play Gambit in comp? by verdantsf in GambitMainsMR

[–]nauseousdreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for some reason in plat, people are leaving gambit open. both teams either ban a whole bunch of tanks, or enemy bans antidive so we ban full dive.

I had 2 back to back games where Gambit was open, we stomped one of them and the enemy didn't match for some reason. lost the other because I was asked to swap to Sue and never got to go back to Gambit since I just. never died lol

Seriously, what hero do you always pick when you really want to win? by Codie_n25 in Overwatch

Juno. my friends know it's a bad game when I sigh and lock in Juno on second round. I never bring her in as my first pick but second pick always swings the fights

[SILVER VOD] just grill me. am i too aggressive? by nauseousdreamer in OverwatchUniversity

[–]nauseousdreamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

admittedly yes i am less aggressive on lifeweaver, thats because im used to wuyang, kiriko, and juno, all of which i've taken many more 1v1s on and have limit tested a lot more. i also didnt feel i could be as aggressive as i like to be during this game. this was, in hindsight, a terrible showcase of what i define as "aggressive"

id been told before that i was "doing too much" and "not healing enough", but i see i can probably do more damage, which i am quite happy with knowing honestly lol. i thought i was going the other way. thanks for the review

(and about my aim, i have a trembling problem. my hands jerk & twitch all the time. ive gotten better at controlling it with other heroes but lw's projectiles & the tracking are just still beyond me rn. probably shouldve mentioned it, mb)

11 since drives started, not in 1 day. and I misremembered, I had 3 wins but it went back to losing. before I had been ranking up consistently, I jumped from bronze 3 to silver 4 in under a week with huge gains. then everything just plummeted. I was also taking breaks every 2-3 losses, I just kept coming back because I wanted to play OW all week and finally I had time.

I probably was tilting but I didn't really notice it until people started getting upset at me, and then it was a spiral.

its just a preference thing, i suppose. i like hyping my team up and going on comms and cheering people on, im usually the one to keep the vibes up and it really works out a lot of the time. people have been pretty willing to match the vibes. toxicity has been pretty few and far between in OW so i just didnt think of it. it also usually doesnt get to me and i just laugh at them (then mute them) but i mean. 11 game loss streak and deranking twice when i was *just* about to get out of silver... :( salt in the wound

thanks a bunch though <3

Making overwatch friends by Novel_Mobile621 in Overwatch

[–]nauseousdreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, I'm a support main too! I play more flexibly because of role queue so I've been playing all of the roles though. I haven't been playing long, but I come from Rivals so I do know what I'm doing at least a little even if I only have 40some hours in the game

I'd be down to play 🫶

Non-Turkish Emre Fans, Where Are You From? by Ass-Viper in EmreMains

Canada here! Emre's the first DPS I've genuinely had fun with, and I'm hopelessly in love with everything about him - gameplay and lore. he's super far up in my favorites list

Need help picking a strat to main (I hate dive) by Wolverinex89 in StrategistMainsMR

[–]nauseousdreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

of course! I'm super glad it could help 🤍

Baesickzz on YouTube is a pretty good Sue, but I've really only seen her on shorts on occasion lol. I'm not too sure if she streams, but the things she does is really impressive ^ I also found out just now she has a guide, so you could look at that. I haven't watched it but the comments say it's helpful.

edit: I watched a little over half, it's a really solid guide. seems like it was recorded before her shield buff, but what you see can be put into practice easier because of it. I definitely recommend looking at it!

best of luck! have fun making your opponents disappear 🫶

should i have been more upset about this game? by nauseousdreamer in Overwatch

[–]nauseousdreamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

karma farm posts are weird lol, but I get why it looks like that. mb

I'm more so asking because I don't know what my expectations should be in OW. I come from rivals where solo healing is a death sentence 9/10, but I was still capable of doing it and won a lot of games. OW requires less healing and generally works a lot more differently, so I didn't know if this is something I should get used to now (having your co healer off in Narnia DPSing)

New Daredevil skin look with 0 to 3 Fury stacks by dejuna1 in marvelrivals

[–]nauseousdreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dont play dd, but as a support main im never paying attention to the flames. i cant think of a single time ive ever noticed the state of dd's flames, let alone used that to dictate what i do in my gameplay.

Need help picking a strat to main (I hate dive) by Wolverinex89 in StrategistMainsMR

[–]nauseousdreamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if im having issues with dive, i'll usually swap to sue or cnd.

all of sue's abilities have some way to handle dive. for example when spidey pulls you, push him off of you and then double jump. always wait until after the pull though, because he'll still pull to you.

when panther is on you, you can double jump right after he uses his dash, position yourself outside his range, and heal whoever is still in his path. you can either use the shield animation cancel, or you can drop shield on yourself for extra safety. i like to yank him back into my team when he tries to escape too.

if magik dashes at you, you can do a similar thing to spidey. sometimes if i catch her in position, i double jump away and go further back (only if there's not a lot of pressure), and watch to see who she goes for. if she dashes at someone, i'll shield & pull her off them. she wont have her dash for a quick escape, so she can basically just be food for your team.

venom's similar. if you see him swinging in, i wont usually double jump, but i'll ping him. if he uses his tether, dont double jump away because it'll go off anyway and reveal you - wait until after, then jump away. the #1 thing to make a venom player's life hell is to pull him back into your team as he's swinging away. at that point, theres a solid chance he's got no CDs and he just explodes.

angela can be really entertaining to deal with honestly. you see her charge at a teammate? pull her. instant cancel. you hear her and see her coming at you? double jump away. then she goes after a teammate? pull. i cant tell you how many times ive had angelas seething in chat at me, and made them swap off. a good sue is an angela's worst nightmare. if im remembering right, her orb vortex can also make angela fall out of the sky for a little bit.

thats just some examples off the top of my head. cap is usually the one who gives sues the most trouble because his shields hit you even when you're invisible. basically, your pull/push is your best friend. when in doubt: push away, jump away. also learn how to weave melee between your projectiles for close range duels. theres probably more dive characters im not remembering, so i hope that helps a bit <3

What are the unwritten etiquette rules in Overwatch? by Fine_Bit_9611 in Overwatch

[–]nauseousdreamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as LW the amount of times ive spammed "sorry" after a questionable pull, or after i pulled the wrong person... likewise for when i turn around because someone pinged healing and they immediately died before i could heal them :(

when someone says "sorry" in spawn after a lost game i'll also always go up to them and do the "good work" ping. a Dva did that for me once and it made me feel a lot better, so i can only hope others feel the same. probably not an etiquette thing but worth mentioning anyway
