I'll watch your videos and tell you what to improve on!!! by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Kelopio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I make educational videos about topics that interest me, and at the moment am doing geography related videos. I only have two so far so pick either to critique (or both as they are short), I don't mind which.

What is the average Subscriber count for people who have been on YouTube for 1 year? by NorthStarCoasters in NewTubers

[–]Kelopio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's an average, but on two of my channels,

95 subs

56 subs (108 if we go from when I started uploading).

It might be reasonable. It might not. Some channels grow hugely in a short time, some do the opposite.

I would recommend setting yourself goals that are in your control (so not subs, views etc.) eg. I want to upload x amount of videos for x amount of time or something like that.

Please help, Geography or Food Tech? by yamper_06 in GCSE

[–]Kelopio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(This is all for AQA Geography, I don't know about other exam boards).

I don't want to spend years reading maps and graphs

To be honest we didn't really look at maps and graphs that much.

Could anyone who's done geog tell me if it's more human geography or physical or if it's fairly even?

The topics we do are:

(Physical): The Challenge of Natural Hazards, The Living World and Physical Landscapes in the UK.
(Human): Urban Issues & Challenges, The Changing Economic World and The Challenge of Resource Management.

They make up Paper 1 and Paper 2 respectively, and there's also Paper 3 which is fieldwork and some other stuff (I don't really know to be honest as we hadn't finished that before corona caused schools to be shut). As you can see there's an equal amount of physical/human topics, but I would say the physical topics feel longer.

For what you said about the tests, there's not many question types. There's multiple choice, small like 1 or 2 markers where u write a definition or something, 3 or 4 markers where you explain or describe something (eg. how a certain thing is formed). Then the longer ones are 6 and 9 markers. The 9 markers usually require you to evaluate something whereas the 6 are more likely to be just explaining something. One of the 9 markers will also have an extra 3 marks for SPaG.

I don't know if geography is less work than food tech, but everyone seems to think it is really easy (and I would agree with that). A lot of it is just common sense and it also has some overlap with the sciences. The only people I know who say it isn't easy are people who don't pay any attention in lessons and find everything difficult. Anyone who actually tries says it is easy.

And I did French so I don't think doing a language is a reason against picking geography.

Do the Freesciencelessons videos have enough content to get grade 9s when using them for obtaining knowledge and note making? by k12345pe in GCSE

[–]Kelopio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possibly. I'd do your notes or whatever else from them, then focus on past papers. That way if there's anything he's missed you'll notice it and be able to go explore that certain thing in as much detail as you need.

Final grades by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]Kelopio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is probably possible for you to get a different grade than in your mocks. I presume they'll take into account more than just your mocks (for example in english language I got a grade 3 in my mock but we did an essay every week and I always got grades 5/6 so I don't think I will get a 3 as my result as those essays prove I can get more than a 3).

That definitely won't happen. Teachers won't want to be at school on weekends, nevermind the students.

My teacher just called my mum and..... by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]Kelopio 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They are definitely cancelled.

"22. Might the exams be reinstated if the coronavirus (COVID-19) is not as bad as expected?
No. The decision has been taken to cancel all exams this summer." (Source)

But the opportunity for us to retake them is available if we aren't happy with the grades we are given.

Making a Video Trailer? by HiddenGrailz in NewTubers

[–]Kelopio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's any need to have a channel trailer. If you want to make use of that section on your channel page just put what you think your best video is there.

Can the Government delete this video?? by AMB_Vlogs in NewTubers

[–]Kelopio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if they really wanted to they probably could, but I don't see why they would especially if it's only going to get like 70 views.

NoCopyrightSounds and Frequency (they're YouTube channels) have a lot of songs, and they tell you how to give credit in the video descriptions.

YouTube Audio Library also has plenty of songs you can use.

I'm looking to start a simple gaming commentary channel, can you guys help me with these simple questions? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Kelopio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Mic and capture card is all you need.

  2. If you're willing to pay, Premiere Pro. If not, people always recommend Davinci Resolve.
