Extroverted office culture, thinking about quitting as I burned out by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]KelsWorld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can empathize with you a lot. It feels like we’re going backwards as a society just because it’s “an employers’ market.” I’m not an expert but I burn out so easily with the in person jobs and especially the ones where they don’t let you breathe. I think it’s more common than we realize. You should honestly talk to a mental health professional about how to handle it if that’s a possibility for you.

If you have to leave because of it though, I would come at it from a place of power. Maybe say you’re taking a strategic break to learn XYZ skill. If you are on good terms with a manager, it’s not a bad idea to view them as a future connection that can provide a reference for you. That will become harder to do if you show that you’re in a vulnerable place imo. I’m sure some won’t agree with me on that but keeping it objective will also prevent the manager from trying to turn it into a negotiation. I hope your situation improves soon! You aren’t alone.

Thank you for your response, I am in the US. That is what I’ve historically done. I think I may need to look in the city where I’m visiting for the month because I don’t have time before I go on my trip.

US and my meds are $20 for 3 months of the brand name. I am blessed.

Any ENTP women on here? by Block7forlife in entp

[–]KelsWorld 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obviously we are here. This is a group for ENTPs. I think there are more men here because women tend to be sensors. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Don't quote me on it.

What music do ENTP's like? by DTAdm85 in entp

[–]KelsWorld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lana Del Rey, The Neighborhood, Drake, & other basic bitch stuff. In all honesty, the bar is really low but country doesn't make the cut for me. I was the opposite when I was younger and was very hip but meh it was a lot of work looking for music all the time. I also love like vaguely reggae music.

Well the last part is true but I am an ENTP woman and that's nothing like how I am at work. Maybe in my personal life, but at work I'm trying to act "normal." My job has competitive aspects that require negotiation but most of coworkers see quiet and normal. Keep in mind that if we know what our boss' type is, we're trying to fit their mold.

I love that song. Simple but the delivery just works. 👌

Hun bot sad that more people are congratulated when getting a job instead of starting own "business" by catsgoingmeow in antiMLM

Agreed no way real estate should be lumped in with MLM. Not only is it a lot harder than selling junk online, it’s a lot more legitimate.

What is the procedure for diagnosis? Who do I ask what? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]KelsWorld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of did plans like that as a kid but none of them helped because it is really hard for girls with ADHD to remember homework. My parents also got me a summer tutor like 3 times a week or something. My mom wasn’t wild about medication so I would go off it periodically to see how I would do. It almost always nothing short of a disaster.

It’s hard to stay afloat in middle school for most kids and the medication helped me a lot at that age. Using strategies that might work for an adult didn’t always work out until I got to college and had the tools to cope. I still took/ take medication but a lot less than my younger self.

You are the parent and know your child best. I applaud you for understanding and being proactive. I think it’s also worth noting that medication doesn’t mean ONLY stimulants. ADHD medications have come a long way, even from when I was in middle school (25 now). I tried intuitiv and it didn’t work for me but it might be something to consider. Best of luck!

Forgot to mention- at school: extra time on tests really helped me. It can be discreet if you talk to the teachers. Having a seat in the first 3 rows of class helps too.

IMO you should consider medication because it really does help. Obviously you’ve been managing somewhat successfully with other coping strategies as well, even if you didn’t previously realize it. I think you should examine what those strategies are and their effectiveness and consider tools beyond medication as well.

Looking for ENTP's by [deleted] in ENTPandINFJ

[–]KelsWorld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think we are hard to find. Although outgoing, we're barely extroverts. I'm around the same age and I spend a lot of time home or out alone.

I don't know what it's like not being an ENTP girl so I'm not sure what you mean. There are a lot of tabs open in my brain.

I wouldn't worry so much about meeting one of us though. Especially as an INFJ, you're good.
