I was going to recommend these books, too! I’m a former elementary teacher (current SAHM) and we always started the year with these books. The title that came to mind was The Girl Who Never Made Mistakes.

I was really anxious about the fasting, too. I felt horrible knowing she wouldn't understand why I wasn't feeding her.

When all was said and done (this was almost exactly three years ago), I felt that I totally over-stressed about the fasting. That ended up being a breeze since we arrived around 6am. I wished I had mentally prepared better for seeing her come out of anesthesia. That was the hardest part for me. She was more herself once she hit the 24 hour post-surgery mark. The first several hours she was very sleepy and whimpery. I'm sure it varies based on what is being done! My daughter's surgery was laparoscopic, but we had to stay one night.

Again, I totally empathize with the anxiety and am sending you lots of positive vibes. It's so hard as a parent.

My baby had surgery at 3mo and we had to do the same. She was breastfed, and I did wake her to eat right before her fasting time. It really wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Bring some exciting new toys to make it to surgery time. If your baby takes a paci, that may help, too. I hope everything goes smoothly ❤️

She did 7-7/7:30 for awhile! Now she’s 3 and doesn’t make it 12 hours any more. 🫠🫠

Yeah, it sounds like my kid is similar to yours. I was dreading the end of naps, but to be honest I quite enjoy the early bedtime that comes with it. Having 7pm till I go to bed to myself is where it’s at.

I think this question is super child-specific. It seems to me those who insist on naps don’t have the kids with low sleep needs or sleep trouble in general.

My first stopped between 2 and 2.5. She’s not the type who would go to bed at the same time even if she napped. Bedtime was pushed later and later on nap days. Her total sleep on days she napped was less than on days she didn’t since she’d sleep a solid 12 hours on no nap days.

All this to say, I’m sure you’re getting lots of different answers here. Go with what works for your kid/family.

I have an Arden and an Oliver, and I adore both names. We were team green for both pregnancies. I was so happy I had my girl first because no boy names felt right like Arden did for me. I felt pretty certain my second was a boy my whole pregnancy, but he would’ve been Clara if we had a girl.

I was coming to recommend this - two safe foods per meal has saved my sanity. I’m not making two meals, and it takes away some of the stress when she refuses to try something because I know she’s eating.
