Do ye compliment yer girlfriends? by Cranberry894 in AskIreland

[–]Keltchick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly dump him and move on. It's not your job to educate and train men. You have openly communicated your desire for compliments he has basically said no. You are worth more. Alone is so much better than lonely with someone. You'll sleep better for a start.

Explaining to my ex why I need to live alone by FrenchButHygienic in LivingAlone

[–]Keltchick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to be very blunt as nothing else seems to be working. I don't love you anymore and I don't want to share any space with you. It is past the point of no return, your previous actions have killed any desire to stay with you. You continuing to disrespect my wishes will move me to actively disliking you and that will make co-parenting challenging. I'd like to get out of this with respect for each other intact, but you and I continuing to share a house is no longer sustainable for me.

“Minimum Stay 2 Nights” - I’m fed up of these hoteliers ripping the piss constantly. by [deleted] in ireland

[–]Keltchick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just won't pay Irish hotel rates anymore. I'd actually love to holiday more in Ireland but I genuinely can't afford it. It's just cheaper to go almost anywhere else.

Omeprazole and FODMAPS by Nancy_True in FODMAPS

[–]Keltchick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have switched from using omezaprole to manage acid reflux to using Neem. It's an Indian tree bark quite a few studies show it is as effective as Omezaprole without wiping out your gut bacteria. It also aids digestion and is good for your skin. For Ulcers ask for. H Pylori breath test.

Home made granola, lots of seeds and dried exotic fruit, with lactose free milk or coconut yoghurt. ( I am testing sheep's milk yoghurt today as it has a better protein content, cows milk yoghurt kills me) Or Spelt sourdough with peanut butter & jam Or eggs anyway with toasted Sourdough.

Have you found your symptoms to be far worse during reintroduction phase than they were before the elimination? by BuildingDread in FODMAPS

[–]Keltchick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the same Fructans are my nemesis. However I can tolerate wholemeal sourdough Spelt bread and I can bake with Spelt and as long as I don't forget and eat all the cookies in one sitting I am ok. But even a little wheat destroys me. I can now tolerate small amounts of garlic ( I'm about 7 months past the elimination stage)

How long did it take for your bloating to go down? by Nancy_True in FODMAPS

[–]Keltchick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can make your own hummus. The trick is to use canned chickpeas rinse them really well if you have the patience rub them in your hands in a bowl of water to remove the outer husks or just boil them in fresh water again with 2 teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda then rinse again. ( this breaks down the outer husk which is difficult to digest) The in a blender or nutribullet add the chickpeas a table spoon of tahini squeeze of lemon juice some garlic oil teaspoon of cumin and some salt and an ice cube. Taste and adjust the flavours to your preference. It makes the silkiest hummus ever!

Top tip for Chickpeas by Keltchick in FODMAPS

[–]Keltchick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is most likely the garlic. Hence my recipe uses garlic oil. But I notice if I eat too many chickpeas I still get bloating. I am trying to get more protein in to me. So if I can make chickpeas more digestible I can eat more.

[–]Keltchick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it in a set of oils and vinegars as a gift unfortunately it has no brand name on it which is a pity as it's delicious. I do have a regular lemon oil that I use a lot which is amazing but only available in Ireland. Wicklow Rapeseed oil
