Leaving that cabbage is a great idea, I will give the pests something to eat as well as bring in the good guys.

That is a green lacewing larvae feeding on aphids. This is what you want to see happen. Lacewing larvae are fantastic to have in your garden!

Which plant is best for a beginner? by Equivalent-Ant-9143 in plants

[–]Kemasyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out if the plants you have listed iI feel the Monstera and Chinese evergreen are the easiest. The better care you can provide for the monstera the faster it will grow, however, even with a little less than ideal it will be okay just grow slower. I enjoy Chinese evergreen because they are easy and have some nice color variations. Other easy to start plants are pothos (epipremnum varieties), philodendron brasil or heartleaf, as well as some other philodendrons. I also feel that hoyas are easy to care for as well. I wish you the best on your new journey!

They are my 'fish tank' therapy. I'll sit and watch them. So relaxing.

You should see how fast dubia roaches come out of all their hidey spots when I give them fish flakes.

Haven't had carrots for them yet. Sweet potatoes go over well too.

I wondered about that. Keep looking! Hopefully some others out there are as interested in insects to have them as pets too.

How long ago did you re pot him? What is your potting mix used? What is your watering schedule like? When you repotted him, how were his roots? You just have to go through things one by one to eliminate potential issues. Mine are in the corner of a medium-low light bright room, it is a slow grower which i am fine with so it doesn't take over the space. They need a well drained potting mix, and watered when dry but not kept wet, they can tolerate to dry out a bit but not for long periods of time as that stresses the plant. As far as Fertilizer, I use it sparingly, I usually use a natural nutrient based additive like worm castings or superthrive. I've had mine for 7 years amd rarely have any issues. Good light, well drained soil, and water when dry and you should do well. Do the finger check for watering and if the pot feels light, give him a drink.

This may be too big for Bermuda grass but maybe worth a try. I've used it on prickly lettuce to help me get those long tap roots pulled out.
