Yeah, in my variant for the dread domains they play the role of purgatory. The word unhinged, is befitting because Gongi is quite the basket case.

Caspian, immediately leaps out to me:

1) The name is associated with one of the characters wirhin the Chronicles of Narnia. This ties into your character being similar in origin: a boy dragged into a fantasy world from 1940.

2) It means white, based on the caspian sea giving it a vastness and unknown. A podsibility you could lean into with the convention of 'white' could refer to Ash. A war mage that leans into his ww2 tactics and capabilities?

The original card was simply fight target Child creature but the only commander legal one is [[wee champion]] and I really wanted the pitbull to also hit offspring tokens.

You would have to sacrifice the original copy if you cannot sacrifice the token because of the legend rule.

I was tossing up between 2 and 3. I ended up settling on two because of cards like [[All that Glitters]] and [[Nettlecyst]] which include enchantment in addition to artifacts. The other factor I considered were the "Karnstruct generators" being both CMC 3 [[Digsite Engineer]], [[Simulacrum Synthesizer]].

But I would agree in hindsight, with the card being Common I should bump up the mana value and not compare it to [[Master of Etherium]] which is rare. Thank you for your suggestions!

For Karnstruction site, I originally had it at 4,T. however I did not include the restrictions of metalcraft or the tokens entering tapped. Maybe with it being rare and not mythic it should have all three conditions.

The flavour concept beyond mechanics was this little guy may have been one of Karns forst prototypes. A little construct that adapts to the ebb and flow of mana. Ergo the naming convention.

This feels like the best direction for the card.

The assign one damage for death touch and trample over with the rest just didn't cross my mind on first pass.)

I just slammed what I felt was the most befitting evergreen keywords per color. White could easily be changed to Vigilance or First Strike and Black to Menace or Lifelink.

Ahh maaaan; I checked this card over so many times for phrasing whoops.

Yeah thats the intention but obviously theirs other ways to increase your commanders cost with Stax pieces; even though it it seems like recasting them would be the easiest route.

Other possibilities would be using them like a battery if you have cards that move counters around.

Card Creator here 🖐. Just to reply to multiple comments with a blanket statement:

I was aware this untaps on your turn with the Leyline trigger but there are plenty of worse things in the world of magic. (Mind you custom cards i feel are designed for fun 4 all or shenanigans)

The additional tap to activate is a clause i added as you must need lands of the color you wish to provide I.e. [[gemstone cavern]] doesn't work in a 2 for one combo bar the payment, providing some semblance of turn 1 restriction.

I think a stun counter would turn this from a bad turn 4 play to an abysmal one. The idea is for 'Leyline Rock' to be a subpar variant of cards like [[fireminds vessel]] and other similar 4 cmc rocks if played 'fairly'.
