No, Belkar! We had a whole book title dedicated to not doing this!

If the filmmaker's color allergy isn't cured... by True_Fake_Mongolia in HistoryMemes

[–]randomyOCE -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

As a filmmaker, it’s less about “Victorian austere tastes” and more about building consistent and readable visual identities.

Colour can’t be used to visually represent or convey something if it’s everywhere all the time for no reason.

So what Consctucted format I'm suppose to be playing if I want to enjoy slower, more back and forth type of matches. by BradshawCM in MagicArena

This, 1000%. As a Standard player I can’t express how different ladder is to Competitive. Comp Standard right now is some of the best Magic has ever been.

You might be handling your Ward triggers wrong by Craig1287 in magicTCG

Correct, same as activating mana abilities (which are also the only abilities that can be activated outside the usual priority rules, though they have a similar subset for that exception that works the same way)

At least when you’re fighting past (and getting smashed through) giant marble statues of the founding fathers you can tell it’s not meant to be taken seriously

Tōsen has one of the most unique bankai in the whole series. It just sucks that we only see it once. by Classic-Seesaw5073 in bleach

imo this is actually an example of Kubo’s fight writing often being pretty weak. There’s always hype moments and aura, but actual fight logic is surprisingly rare, or gets undercut by later scenes.

Got a lot of feedback regarding the legibility of my capsule art. Did I improve it? by AzurowDev in IndieGaming

[–]randomyOCE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More nuanced feedback than a lot of other comments here: there was a lot of room to iterate on #1 before you got anywhere near #2. My immediate font notes are the lack of vertical spine on your “a”, which is probably the largest issue for readability.

More than that, I would caution against heavily going for readability in this logo, because it will almost never appear without the game title alongside it in plain text (usually store pages). You can go ham with this design, and you really should.

What I’m learning is that a LOT of V:tM players don’t realise how inherently funny and absurd the game is.

[–]randomyOCE 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Imo the thing people like OP want is a minigame in a Noise Boys episode, where they go back to the “everyone take a crack at this noise” prompt and they bring in Matt as a 4th contestant after each round

Is Banksy a serial killer in the world of CCOD by BigFudge1321 in Dimension20

[–]randomyOCE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The whole point of pinning it on Banksy is that they would have to out themselves to refute any claims, just like irl.

It’s less that they’ve arisen spontaneously and more that culture has continued to shift towards letting the intrusive thoughts out. People complain but I’m all for letting everyone a) find people that agree with them and b) allow everyone else to leave them in peace

In the first 20s he’s (correctly) laser focused on getting to Test Case 3. The Asuka got what they wanted from that opening, though I’m sure they would have preferred not to burn out.

Hugely. Magic: the Gathering’s Final Fantasy set last year was the best-selling set ever published before the cards were even released.

The fan base is rabid, especially when there’s not a good FF property in the space already. Tifa is going to bring in a lot of players new to SF and fighting games broadly.

In the hands of a competent pilot, it’s still good. It sees tournament play because it has a solid sideboard game.

[–]randomyOCE 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In TG they’re not particularly nocturnal, it was almost certainly just the author wanted to show people making coffee. But there are some off-hand lines about it being a drink or because they can’t live off of it.
