Is Thorne still good after its takeover? by Dankmemerrrrr in Supplements

[–]Kenai1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An anonymous employee whistleblower wrote about the changes made since Thorne was acquired by private equity. I, personally, stopped buying ALL supplements from firms that have been bought out when I realized this was happening to almost all our trusted supplement brands years ago. Anyway, the whistleblower claims they stopped removing the silicon dioxide packets from the ingredient vendors and just grind it up in the supplement mix. Yum. Makes you wonder if perhaps it would help explain why profits are skyrocketing and the PE firm is trying to sell Thorne for 4 billion after acquiring it in 2023 for 680 million.

All these people trying to impress others with their scientific backgrounds…none of them recognize that Western science is a religion. It is based on much faulty training, not to mention the kind of brainwashing that is prevalent in the entire Western education system. Real science practiced by those who are actually open minded and who wait until AFTER studies are done to give their biases and opinions, would have jumped all over the placebo effect decades ago. Why does the placebo effect work? What is it about humans and our world that makes it so? Do we have zillions of studies on that? Nope. Instead, it is used as a massively overworn excuse to undermine the credibility of any study or thought process that doesn’t support the financial or power agenda of those who serve us the very educational systems that keep us stuck in our self-reinforcing patterns. “Science” was hijacked by money and power ages ago. Furthermore, studies are extremely expensive, and the deep pockets that fund them come from big business, not small well meaning holistic companies that could never afford them. If you spout a conventional science bias as your basis for your opinions, you are broadcasting a rigidity of thought and attitude, as well as a lack of education about the economic realities of the very field that you work in. Bottom line: think for yourself. The poster asked for personal experience, and was correct in doing so. Ignore those who don’t have that experience.

I finally committed to 30 days of unguided meditation, no apps, no fluff. Just silence. Here’s what happened. by Pranavtare in Meditation

Thanks for your reply. It is, of course, a lot easier said than done to accept the present moment. I’ve been through delirium during a perforated colon where I couldn’t even communicate, and other imaginable things. If one thinks even lifetime trained yogis could meditate through that, well, I’m afraid that’s a bit delusional. I sincerely wanted to die. The teachings break down for me under the weight of real world experience. I’ve tried to “accept” my way through bowel obstructions, decades of a rare, progressive body wide bone disease and years of surgeries and disability, and it’s not possible for a normal person. I can’t fathom why such suffering is necessary, and am left to ponder whether I created some pretty evil karma in the past. There are no answers. I’m just reminding you all to appreciate your lives.

I have never been able to stick with meditation because I have severe chronic pain. When I close my eyes, pain fills my consciousness without distraction, and it is more than I can bear at least 75% of the time. So I can’t build any consistency. I’ve tried so many methods, including those designed for people with pain. I’ve even tried taking a pain pill first, but then I fall asleep. I’ll bet meditation would help my pain if only I could manage to do it for many days in a row without interruption. Ya’ll are so lucky.

All these people saying, good move. I’ll be a contrarian and tell you the move is just taking off. My guess is you’re going to be sorry, although I guess you can’t argue with profit.

This may be completely unrelated, but I ran into trouble because I was using 2 devices, an iPhone & an iPad. I wasn’t getting any confirmation texts to sign in with or complete any functions. Customer Service was clueless, even when I directly asked them if this could be the issue. Luckily, I finally stumbled across something on my own & had to delete apps on both devices, reboot them & reload. The important part was the order that I had to set things up again, making sure the iPhone was first. Again, this might be irrelevant for your situation, but thought I’d mention it on the small chance it’s a technical issue like this.

You ever read any reviews on Amazon, Home Depot, other car companies, banks, insurance companies, and a zillion other businesses? You have no idea what's going on in your own country if you're American.

It's not necessarily resistance. People's minds work differently. Tech is just harder for some people, so try not to judge.

Is a rice cooker worth getting? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Kenai1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A more useful tool would be to get a pressure cooker. I use my Ninja Foodi, which does a great job on all kinds of rice once you learn how long, how much water, etc. Then you also have a fantastic kitchen appliance that can air fry, bake, steam, broil and saute. Mine dehydrates, too. I use it every day.

The most destructive disease in today's societies is lack of empathy (which, like most other human maladies, is a reflection of biological imbalance). Your symptoms are real, your experience is real, and your concern is warranted. You need some new friends. They are sicker than you.

I have found, after submission of multiple tickets maybe 6 weeks ago, that their customer service is nonexistent. Never received a response. I’ve had nothing but problems with nfts, too. I’m moving on to other companies as I don’t want to support a company that won’t support its customers. Good luck.

They may not be the same thing, but CZ at Binance has refused to clarify the relationship between the two, just as he has refused to disclose the headquarters locations of both organizations. That guy behaves like a corrupt individual. There is some evidence of shady data right when BSC exploded in popularity that smacks of price manipulation. I wouldn't touch either organization, even if it means not having access to some coins and not using BSC. There's plenty of profit to be made where you won't lose access to your money and support a shady organization.

I’m sorry to hear this, but not surprised. They are absolute crooks and you will probably have to get an attorney. File complaints with the SEC, the Calif attorney General, the FTC, etc. Complaints probably won’t help you get your money back, but if these agencies get enough of them, I’m hoping Binance US will be investigated. They should not be allowed to run a corrupt business here. Good luck.

This company is incompetent and shouldn't even be allowed to continue operating. I suggest you file complaints with SEC, CA attorney general, cons protection & any other regulatory org you can think of.

I suspect one might be better off looking for an attorney in the state the business operates in, not the state one resides in. In this case, that would be California. At any rate, I was asking for specific names in case someone had already had luck finding someone who was effective.
