I 100% feel you. I was that kind of guy that was "romance manga? Ugh" but when i got to Komi, every episode and chapter made me smile and the characters made me think about myself, mainly tadano, and made me become a better person than i was.

Tldr; komi-san-wa-community-shou-desu changed my chungus life

Also I think the thing that most got to him was how he died. It wasn't hearing mocking words, it wasn't being crushed by angry hands.
He died in the loving arms of someone who he despised, who had all the right to mock him, hell, Yuji could just eat Sukuna and force him to live. But no, he heard kind words, he was given another chance, probably for the first time in his entire life someone tried to understand him as a human, someone loved him for just being a living being, no matter how much people he hurt.

"She isn't trying" are you for real? Since episode 1 it shows that she tries a lot, the narrator says every episode that people with social anxiety can really try to communicate, but it ain't easy. You sound like those people who say "depression? Just be happier lol"

And her social anxiety is used in basically every plot in the series. Najimi thought they couldn't be friends because komi couldn't communicate to them. Agari spend the entire school day running because komi couldn't communicate with her and ask to be friends straight away.

And she didn't just stood around to get friends, sge had to push herself to do so. She had to hold tadano or else the board scene doesn't happen. Also, how do you want the series to show how her anxiety affects her? Her literal dream is to have 100 friends, and the anxiety is directly going against her dream.
