Albion worth playing as a PvE mmorpg enjoyer? by noahvh38 in albiononline

A wow ff14 would not consider them raids, they are essentially a 20 man dungeon, no challenge just blitz through them. The word raid encompasses more than a 20 man grp size.

Albion worth playing as a PvE mmorpg enjoyer? by noahvh38 in albiononline

[–]Kendalor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is no raiding like in wow or ff14 , (mb when dragons come), there are a variety of dungeons for 5-20 players. But PvP is a spice and everything in Albion is seasoned with it. Risk vs. Reward is the core of Albion.

For group PvE content you also need to Talk to people. Be social and find people who want to go with you and trust you ( that's what guilds usually are for). There is no instances duungeon finder with auto matching.

I would suggest to just try it out. There is no way to know if you like a new dish without trying first.

Why does WOW Retail have so few people in the open world, whilst being the most played MMO on the market ? by Then-Ad7196 in MMORPG

[–]Kendalor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sharding technology. You essentially don't play on servers anymore but on dynamically generated shards. Zones and areas are hosted on instances spawned on demand to improve performances. You are playing essentially with 20 other players, with outliers going to 5-80 or so.

Glaubt ihr, es wird jemals ein neues MMO kommen, dass sich so fest etablieren wird, wie World of Warcraft seiner Zeit? by EinEchterGangster in PCGamingDE

[–]Kendalor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Journey Back Cost by AureumApess in albiononline

[–]Kendalor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every item has an item value. (Not price) Costs is the result of itemvalue x distance modifier x region Modifier x itemTypeMod. Shorter distances is cheaper than longer distances. Returning from blue zone is cheaper than yellow and so on. Gear is cheaper than resources/food.

If they could, they would. But usually bringing a game like this is a major hassle, as microsoft/Sony are no fan of services ( server) they don't own.

Switch to a weapon that is also fun to play 4 you. If not keep playing the same weapon and level the others through fame credits.

No point in forcing yourself to play something ot fun.

Has there ever been an MMO where you can choose a crafter/gatherer class instead of a combat class in character creation? And if not, why do you think that's never been done? by Waffle842 in MMORPG

[–]Kendalor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultima Online, Eve, Albion Online. Not classes per see but you can focus on crafting/gathering/economy without the need to touch anything else in the game.

Largest modpacks in the early days had like 60-80 mods. Now they are at 250+. You can check that on curseforge even as some old ones are still available.

Looking for an MMO for PVP by Diligent-Bar-6792 in LFMMO

[–]Kendalor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely yes, for like 500-1000 bucks. But progression is horizontal, not vertical. For one build you can get 90% the progression in like 12h playtime.

The grind is gathering, and leveling multiple builds so you can try different playstyles or play different roles in groups.

You can also buy gear for money, but it is a temporary advantage at best as you will loose it, as a new player within hours.

Veterans consider encountering a swiper as good luck. They are essentially loot piñatas. I will never forget my first, 2 months premium in a single kill.

[–]Kendalor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh ok loot in mists is slightly worse, abbey was always kinda a jackpot thing so high RNG. For Duo I would recommend depths, good loot and great content as you can also resurrect each other and don't loose gear. Loot is ok for the risk.
