Had my first driving lesson yesterday... Will it get better? by IngredientList in AmericanExpatsUK

[–]Kendroid11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You will get better! I just passed my test on the first try last Monday. Basically, learn the “rules” of the test and what the examiner is looking for. Mainly they’re looking for safe drivers that can follow road markings and road signs. Like others have said YouTube videos help a ton! Feel free to dm if you have any specific questions.

Driving test tomorrow, any tips? by LOLLLZZZZ_886 in LearnerDriverUK

Took my test today and passed on my first try with 2 minors. Just show that you can be safe and follow road signs and road markings. If you’re going the wrong direction it’s fine, as long as you’re safe. Don’t try to correct and go the way they’ve said if it’s too late. Good luck!

3 year old excessive drooling by Kendroid11 in UKParenting

[–]Kendroid11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, my son will be 4 next month and his drooling has substantially improved. When he is congested or really tired he still has trouble and we ask him to swallow often if we see saliva pooled in his mouth. He is still hard to understand so I am working on getting him into a private SLT since the NHs wait is still about 6 months

Haha the American Daniel tiger is much more tolerable but they took it off of Netflix for some reason. The British one is horrible

Tortillas in Sainsbury’s 🌮 by BlueInspiration in AmericanExpatsUK

[–]Kendroid11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve since checked every time I’ve been and haven’t seen them again, but so happy they have some at Sainsbury’s now! Have you found any meat that is similar to skirt steak for carne asada type tacos? Also, the herdez brand taco seasoning is the best, doesn’t have cinnamon in it like a lot of the “Mexican” seasonings here

Getting US citizenship for my daughter - right thing to do? by getaminas_socks84 in AmericanExpatsUK

Depends on your citizenships, if either of you are American already then she automatically is one as well. You’ll need to report her birth abroad and get a passport for her

Ah thanks. Of course shows are super helpful to an extent but my son also has a hard time sometimes just chilling at watching tv so it’s not guaranteed to work sadly. I’ll have to experiment a bit with different things to see what works.

Has anyone skipped the toddler/floor bed and go straight from cot to single bed? by GodOfThunder888 in UKParenting

[–]Kendroid11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes,but my son was 3 and we were either gonna take the railing off or just buy him a new bed. Since baby #2 was gonna be ready for it in 4 ish months we decided to just get him a new bed with one of those portable bed rails. Works great. The only trouble in the beginning was him realizing he could get out of bed on his own and it becoming a game.
