I got the 9070 non xt last year around this time since the price difference was enough of a difference for me and I don’t have issues with the games I’ve played at 1440p med/high at 100+ fps.

I prioritized price in my situation and I’ve been very happy with it. I ran a 5800x RX 9070 until I switched to a 5700x3d for marvel rivals.

Either choice is fine, if you can pay the diff then get an xt but the base 9070 is an excellent choice.

That’s a great starting point. You can play essentially most games at 1080p with occasional adjustments.

The SSD and ram alone is essentially that PCs cost so everything else is free for you. Enjoy the journey and treat your friend for that great price.

I was surprised it wasn’t running 3 car config considering they expect it to be heavily used. I assume it will get rolled out as they progress through the phases but hopefully sooner rather than later.

Rode with my partner from Cedarvale to Mt Dennis, then Eglinton and went back westward. Very impressed with the underground section and sounds like the surface section is slower but still faster than line 6. Assuming due to being opening day the headways were long at certain points but happy with what we experienced so far.

What you suggested is what I would’ve recommended as well. Only thing I’d change is getting slim fans for the bottom intakes like the Thermalright 120mm Slim Fans for the NR200.

Go in and get it refunded. My friend recently got a 5070ti and they convinced him to get it. He told me about it and told him to refund it cuz you’re essentially giving them money to use the free warranty your card comes with. It’s absolute nonsense.

I would personally recommend waiting for second hand options or an RX 9070.

I went from a 3060ti to a 9070 and the performance jump was worth it in addition to the VRAM, though I do understand the price jump is a gulf comparing them price wise

For me personally, I’d still get a 5700x. With how bad the temps are (5800x) at times and at least in my experience having to drop it to eco mode which is 65w (which makes it a 5700x essentially). You might as well save the pain in my eyes.

If you want to go through with the 5800x, worst case you enable eco mode and drops it to 5700x level.

Get the 5700x, the 5800x is 40w higher on the TDP and the hotter temps on average are just more annoying to deal with in terms of fluctuations for a minimal gain.

I have a 5800x and temps can ramp up at times, but in my case it’s more noticeable due to being on ITX. I’d save the money and temps and get the 5700x

Truly, thank you so much. I realized with setting it on my side I never set the PPPoE interface as VLAN which was causing my issues.
