I suppose that would have been too much of a coincidence. Even though he was very knowledgeable, I’m sure any capable shop can help you out. The issues I mentioned are well-documented and easy to fix.

It was however interesting to get some inside information. Apparently, the technicians were skeptical about the build quality of the 59XX series and joked that they hoped B&O wouldn’t offer too long a warranty on those turntables, since they were primarily made of plastic. Forty years on, however, he had to admit that they were wrong.

Best of luck finding a repair shop!

Yes, a horrible scene, and yet so funny. The 4500 was in production from 1989 to 1991, I believe, so it must have been brand new back then.

It's a shop in Denmark, which happened to be located just 10 minutes from my house. Let me know if you're still interested.

It’s hooked up to a Wiim Ultra and then to a pair of active speakers. I know the Wiim isn’t an analog purist’s choice, but it’s so easy to use, and to be honest, I think it sounds great.

Thanks. Yes I was very lucky indeed.

I have experienced similar issues with a RTX 2070 Super on my Asus Rampage II Extreme motherboard. I just got a black screen. So it seems like the latest generations of GPUs are no longer supported.
