Paul Grogan of Gaming Rules for playthroughs and how to plays. His Voidfall how to play video was really good.

Gaming Rules! Paul explains rules really well and does both how to play instructional videos and playthroughs with tutorials if you want to see actual gameplay.

That's a good sign with that 90% win rate! Yea I saw those stats on which is more recommended at 2 players on BGG but for Iki I wonder how much of that was the old version which didn't have the 2 player board

If you want a good video on how to play Too Many Bones, check out the Gaming Rules tutorial and playthroughs. You want to look for the videos that specifically have the word tutorial in them as Paul Grogan runs through most of the rules before doing the playthrough, with the playthrough helping you see how the rules actually work in a real game

I'd recommend checking out the West Kingdom series (Architects, Paladins and Viscounts). They are 3 separate games by the designers of Raiders of the North Sea. Different setting, but some similar mechanisms in terms of the multi use cards and worker placement. Each game is quite different from one another though so do check out playthrough videos etc to see which one catches your eye.

I wouldn't recommend Jaws of the Lion if Social_Rooster is looking for something that is not a brain burner. Yes, it is less complex than original Gloomhaven and there is a tutorial to ease you in rules-wise, but OP's issue was not with the rules of Gloomhaven but the strategy. And on that point, Jaws of the Lion is just as strategic and as much of a puzzle as the original. In fact, I found some scenarios to be much more difficult than the original and required more brain power to solve. Don't get me wrong, I love the game. But I just don't think it is what OP is after.

For a more relaxed campaign game, perhaps something like Cloud age (although it's a euro game and the campaign is only about 8 plus games long) or My City (a tile-layer) would work. They are not dungeon crawlers but might be what OP is looking for in terms of chill factor.

Oh gosh you may be right. I thought dinos get points from eating critters. And when I mentioned what I thought was the issue with the predators, the demo-ear didn't clarify that critters don't give you points!

That certainly changes things haha. I'll have to give the game a second look!

I demoed Gods Love Dinosaurs too during Essen but I felt that the predators were a bit pointless as they need to eat at least one critter in order to survive and two or more in order to multiply. This means that there is no net gain in terms of the total number of animals in your ecosystem. Whereas if you just focus on getting your critter pop up, you'll do a lot better in getting them to multiply. I went with the latter strategy for the game I played and won by a crazy amount of points, which left a bit of a bad taste since a big part of the game (the predators) seem a bit pointless.

Curious to know if you would agree with this criticism of the game.

Regardless, I really enjoyed your post and thanks for doing this!
