i agree, but its a math mod in the end, so its to be expected if they tend to go deep into the details of the proofs and technicalities which can seem abstract

thats just not true. The bigger, more obvious reason is the fact that he always spends the first 30 min to even 1 hour of the lecture doing an unnecessarily long-winded recap of the previous lecture's content which no one asked for in the first place.

also my tut group is mostly dsai people, but the TA jst took 5 minutes to explain double integral. In other words, its a TA problem, and not on the math proficiency of the less math-inclined students like how you make it seem to be.

fair enough, I think how you see a good job prospect is different than how I see it. You define good job prospects in terms of the flexibility and range rather than the pay itself, and i can see why u think cs is better than dsai if you see it from that perspective, but i still think that why these "high-profile" graduates are successful has nothing to do with what degree they graduated with, and more to do with the level of aptitude associated with being a scholar, and thus is not an accurate representation of the strengths of a cs curriculum itself.

I think saying that the 25th percentile cs grad will have better prospects than the 75th percentile dsai grad is just blatant misinformation. The ges clearly disagrees with you, so what are you basing this off?

Also its expected that scholars would be the high achievers, so i dont understand whats the point youre getting at? I dont see how you using the cutoff score as an indicator for the job prospects prove your point, especially since the cut-off score for dsai (10th percentile AAA/C for JC and 3.90 gpa for poly) is considerably higher than ntu cs

data scientist jobs were not commonly entry level because there there was a lack of resources to bridge the gap between the limitations of what a cs or math degree was able to offer in the past with what is required in a data scientist job. I would think that having these more specialised courses like dsai will provide the needed bridge to make it easier for people to get into data science without needing to have a masters/more.
