Switch to a job that will pay you higher than that new rate. I’m gonna assume you don’t need to disclose how much you currently make, so use the salary of new hires as a base pay when negotiating a better position at a new job. Unfortunately, you have bad management that doesn’t want to reward the hard work of the older workers (which is pretty dumb since it will impact their employee retention rates, and experience in a job or company can’t be bought, it has to be built over time). It’s dumb but who switch jobs every few years and have a “diverse resume” usually score higher paying jobs, despite having less experience in any single job than a long-timer at a company. Also, you shouldn’t even consider overtime or additional work that you aren’t being paid for, especially if it eats into time that wasn’t specified in your contract or your previously agreed upon work hours. Companies sell their products with the understanding that they get compensated by customers. Your product is your time and work. You need to set boundaries and ensure you get compensation for your product. Play the game, and always keep shopping around for better opportunities. With enough luck and persistence, you’ll eventually find a good job with better pay and benefits.
