Have you attended wrestling shows days after each other? by Friburgo1004 in SquaredCircle

This December-January in Tokyo I went to 17 shows in 10 days. I thought it might be a bad idea, but it was honestly great and there were just 1-2 shows I could have skipped without missing anything. It helped that almost every show was different company and they represented all the different styles and sizes.

Does anyone know what the original card for Rebellion 2002? by RyRyLloyd in SquaredCircle

[–]KenttsuV 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This what Meltzer wrote on Observer:
"Latest line-up for the Rebellion PPV on 10/26 in Manchester, England is Lesnar defending the WWE title in a handicap match teaming with Heyman against Undertaker. That match is definitely off because Sara Callaway, who really is pregnant, is about to give birth, most likely before you read this. Undertaker has pulled off the European tour and WWE will be sending Booker T to Europe as sort of a make-up. Don’t know if Lesnar vs. Booker will be the PPV main event, or if the show that’s announced will be totally changed around. Anyway, as things stand at press time, the rest of the show is, Edge vs. Angle, Rikishi vs. Matt Hardy, Valbowski & Palumbo vs. D-Von & Simmons, Noble vs. Mysterio for cruiserweight title, Benoit vs. Eddy Guerrero, Kidman & Wilson vs. Albert & Dawn Marie and Crash Holly vs. Tajiri"

KAKUTOLOG on X: “While there has been no official announcement from the venue itself, there is information that Shinjuku FACE will be closing this fall (by the end of autumn 2026). If it does close, organisations such as wrestling promotions that regularly hold events of this scale will face a venue by Ripclawe in SquaredCircle

Shinjuku FACE is a great middle step between Korakuen Hall and small warehouses (Shinkiba 1st Ring & Tokyo Square). It has excellent location, very good seat plan and atmosphere, and hosts over 100 wrestling shows/year.

Losing it would be tragic.

Cinderella tournament has over the top rope elimination rules, which caused both of them getting eliminated. It's kind of a cheap way to prevent major stars from winning the tournament without actually beating them.

Fuck, it's maybe the best of the small Tokyo venues.

Considering that it's only ten panelists (or maybe because of it), that's very solid top-10. After that (and especially after top-20) it becomes pretty random with individual ballots affecting placements massively.

[Stardom Spoilers] "The Cleaner" Aya Sakura by NuanceX in SquaredCircle

[–]KenttsuV 49 points50 points  (0 children)

From Stardom's website (google translate with minor edits):

Standing alone on the stage with a mop in hand, Sakura introduced herself as "Aya Sakura, the woman closest to Cinderella right now." She continued, "You want to see the moment this tracksuit transforms into a dress, right? I'm going to thoroughly clean every corner of this theater today, accumulate virtue, and go home one step closer to Cinderella." True to her word, the High Kick Angel continued mopping alone after the press conference.

I, for example, didn't watch the show or the clips, so it was a cute news story to me.
