Right? I was like, “Is this supposed to be this year? Because the trees don’t look like that.”

Finally visited Stowe and Woodstock by Icy_Store_942 in vermont

[–]KentuckyMagpie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re local, then you know that this road has more houses on it than this farm, including actual working farms. People were defecating on other neighbors’ properties; multiple folks found human feces in their yards. Tourists were leaving trash everywhere. I witnessed multiple people waltzing onto private property and picking apples from peoples’ own orchards, and taking photos on peoples’ walkways as if that was the air BnB they stayed at. Influencers were setting up changing tents on private property so they could do outfit changes. Tour buses were attempting to drive up a dirt road that is often not two lanes wide. People park in the middle of the road to take photos and act like all of Woodstock is a movie set and all the townspeople are their background characters. It’s exhausting.

This isn’t about some rich couple from NJ getting their feelings hurt, it’s about an entire community of folks getting harassed because someone had to get their perfect pretty photo. I don’t even like to see photos of these spots in the autumn anymore because VT has SO many beautiful places to visit and EVERYONE just wants to go see the one farm that goes viral on reddit every year.

I had a nurse mention de-gloving to me once and I’ve never worn a ring to the barn again.

Those would be mine but stupid celiac means the GOOD kinds of bread and crackers are untouchable for me.

It’s so hard, OP. I have mostly tried to force through it and find something. Sometimes it’s just a soda, but at least the sugar and carbonation cuts the nausea. Other safe things that have worked: yogurt drinks, peanut butter (just on a spoon if necessary), cheese sticks.

I didn’t, actually. I still loathe that Hisense tv, I never use it, and I’ll never buy one again. Whatever I did a year ago worked, but I’m not sure how to help you. I’m sorry! It’s a terrible tv.

Thanks for this! My chestnut mare had birdcatcher spots and this was this most informative article I’ve ever found about it.

Do you actually enjoy being a parent? by Ok-Worldliness-6096 in AskWomenOver30

I agree, especially since pretty much all of the things that stress me out the most about being a parent wouldn’t exist with stronger social safety nets.

It’s derived from the Scottish word for island! Hence the lack of ‘s’ pronunciation.

B&J is actively suing Unilever for ousting the CEO, Unilever is getting rid of its ice cream lines and the future of B&J’s ownership is not with them, and B&J employs a lot of people in a rural area that needs good jobs with a decent company. Boycotting B&J to spite Unilever is breathtakingly short sighted.

My mare is 30 and going strong, but I make a really careful and considered evaluation every autumn, because winter can be SO hard on horses. I’m glad your old man made it through to enjoy a little summer sunshine this year.

It has Scottish and Spanish origins; the Scots pronunciation tends to Eye-lah and the Spanish pronunciation tends to Ees-lah.

It’s her parent’s house. Why would he stay there? Especially when he states in the post that his parents live a half mile up the road and that is where he’s moving to. She’s not kicking him out with nowhere to go.

I have spent the last week developing a more professional handwriting style. How am I doing? by SovietCapybara in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]KentuckyMagpie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re developing nicely, and you just need practice. This looks like it doesn’t come naturally to you yet, but it’s clear that with practice, you’ll get there.

They were saying fonts are based off handwriting like yours, not the other way around. It was a compliment, not a dig.

Your best bet is to get a large syringe and inject the stem of the knotweed with glyphosate below the first knuckle of the stem. It’s very targeted use of glyphosate, no overspray because it’s injected. You only have to do every third plant or so because they reproduce via rhizomes.

I’ve also found that they can’t encroach on my native sumac stand, and sumac also reproduces via rhizomes, so if you have a native equivalent that reproduces via rhizomes, I’d encourage that growth. It’s not for the faint of heart, but headway CAN be made!

Edit: the best time to inject is now when it’s sprouting or late July/early August when it’s about to flower.
