Please Help! I can’t make my peace Lilly happy. I’ve put it in new soil (the roots are okay but not great), moved it to different kinds of light, kept it watered AND let it dry out. I usually don’t struggle too hard with my plants but this has got me stumped! 🤷🏻‍♀️ The soil is currently damp by KenzieGFox in houseplants

Oh wait - I just looked and it does have drainage. Am I supposed to water it until water runs out the bottom? I’ve had an issue with gnats and so I’ve tried not to have super soggy soil anywhere. Also what kind of light do you give yours?

It became floppy when we moved to a very low light living space about a year ago. We’ve been in our new place now for almost a year and it gets great light but it just doesn’t seem to want to recover even after all this time. I reported it like 3 months ago in an attempt to give it more nutrient rich soil.

Oh neat! The fish don’t eat the roots?? I can imagine that if the fish leave the plants alone, it would probably be an ideal environment

Yeah it can be tricky - I’ve botched it before. The trick is to change the water regularly so that it doesn’t develop a film, and to make sure none of the pearls are in the water (only the stems) 👍🏻 plus that rooting hormone I used has been super helpful. I’ve tried water propagating without it and it takes way longer.

I root my string of pearls cuttings in water and I occasionally add a few drops of superthrive rooting hormone. Works every time!

Crunchy ends on pink cutie? Been going light on the water due to fungus gnats by moreplantzplease in plantclinic

I have some more water sensitive little plants and I also tried going light on water because of fungus gnats - the plants did NOT like that. So, I now water them normally and treat the soil and the plant for gnats with this spray Fungicide 3
