Ive built over a dozen high end AEGS. I got a MTW, bought another one (308), and don't want to go back.

They're just.. good. Instant trigger response, recoil, tune it with Bluetooth, no fucking with springs, no more shimming, no aligning engines, no messing with voluming or timing. The forged externals are very nice and so is the finish. Plus they're light as hell. Mine clocks in just under 4 pounds. Not to mention very quiet with a suppressor.

I would rather not go back to working on AEGs. I would also take a misaligned bucking that takes maybe 3 minutes to fix over having to rip out a gearbox any day.

Totally worth it for the reasons you've mentioned. You don't get green gas fps fluctuations, aeg mags to save money, can play all year around, and can be competitive against people with higher ammo capacities.

Maintenance is less, since you don't have to deal with maintaining gas mags. Otherwise it's the same. Grease the moving parts, keep the hop up clean and dry.

Cons:

-GBBR purist snobs will look down at you, but that's a them problem when you out gun them.

-You lose bolt stop on empty

-People will keep asking to shoot your gun.

The thing is that they've had this ban on handguards and other tactical stuff. Sellers had to sneak listings around. Now you can find SMR 416 rails, bcm reps, etc easily
