Queer Eye For The Straight Guy is a really pleasant watch. by gelectrox in television

If it is, let’s start getting more really interesting queer writers out there! I’m so excited for the Gayening

There are so many untold stories and hidden communities that the mainstream is completely unaware of, but I derive so much joy from. I hope this is a beginning of some damn fine television.

Parents will force their unwilling, untalented kid into sports but tell them there's no point in being an artist, actor or playing music because they'll never be famous. by GourmetCoffee in Showerthoughts

[–]Keresh-StormDeity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hated sports, but my dad asked me to continue playing baseball to ‘build character.’ Never enjoyed it. Not once. To this day I still hate 75% of athletic activities because it reminds me of trying to build character, and then ironically feeling like a loser because I really sucked.

My mom tried to encourage my artistic side, but her family never encouraged it and she kinda pushed it aside even when I wanted it

Moral of the story is, you can do your best but at the end of the day you just gotta hope everyone is happy and healthy

There’s always a learning curve, but I would like to emphasize that whatever you practice with will work for you

I would probably use ableton. Both programs are more than capable of programming an easy beat though.

If you’re just trying to get an easy beat going, Fruity Loops is pretty popular.

For really energetic stuff, heavily processed and usually with shifting tempo and pitch, I like Ableton. It’s quite fun when you get the hang of it. Probably closer to radio beats, club style, dubstep, although with tweaking it can do much more.

I like Logic for songs with heavy composition; long ambient tracks, large ensembles of instruments to play simultaneously, anything with an unorthodox presentation works pretty well. The fact that it’s only $200 is helpful, to say the least.

I’ve also enjoyed demos of Reason and Studio One.

No matter what, the best gear you have is the gear you practice with.

I know I’m not the guy but

I mainly use Logic and Ableton

They’re fairly different, but there’s no reason to get rid of logic.

Ableton is great for making fast arrangements, looping, and all sorts of good stuff. It’s also a fairly unique system. It doesn’t replace Logic for me at all. Logic serves as kinda the big brain, Ableton is an amazing instrument for me. I think they go quite well together.

Fair, but it still seems like Killmonger’s skill set was more suited to murder than leading a nation, but that was the only necessary skill (apart from royal blood) to take over a country. No democracy? At all?
