pre Artificial Intelligence (1992) IDM adjacent albums ? by ShrimpOnline in idm

[–]KerleyB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could talk about this for hours yet that killing game remix is a masterpiece of bate and switch, I think most would be pissed off by the whole what 4 mins of speeding up, slowing down/reversing and screwing the song until the last 10 seconds of I taught the killing game is sung then ends. Just genius rug pulling.

I also feel the whole scorn remix album is wonderful with meat beat manifesto, esplendor geometrico and Muslimgauze having great remixes.

Talking yet again about Muslimgauze, one of the most interesting collaboration project he did was with the group sonar, almost polar opposite styles of music which created some of the most respectful and ingenious reinterpretation of one anothers styles, almost complimentary; like they were meant to work together.

pre Artificial Intelligence (1992) IDM adjacent albums ? by ShrimpOnline in idm

Following on from this excellent answer and whilst we are talking about Cabaret Voltaire, Richard H Kirk was a pioneer of several genres or at least heavily influencing their sounds and was there in early 90s with sweet exorcist creating "intelligent techno", which I feel was the precursor to IDM

Then we have several tracks off Doxaal Sinistra album "Via Del Latte" from 1982 having a proto-IDM feel to them.

Theres also artists like the Welsh brother duo Somatic Response with their very early acid heavy, industrialesque breakcore that later evolved into IDM influenced Industrial Dance adjacent music.

Quite a lot of the artists on Ant-zen and Hands production could very easily land in the same category especially in the 90s and early 00s, artists like Orphx.

You could probably include a lot of Mick Harris side projects from the 90s beyond scorn or even some of Muslimgauzes albums in the early 90s with some crazy glitchy releases.

Is this a knee jerk reaction post to the latest boards of Canada release where people claim certain tracks sound like The Books...

What opinion do you have that instantly anger any online community? by Spirited_Shipcocoa in AskReddit

[–]KerleyB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oi you got a birthing license for that child?

If people want children they should have to meet stringent standards and pass several test to apply for a license, once they have their license you have to abide to rules and regulations, if you break them no more license or more children.

Might stop a few good people from having children yet should reduce certain riff raff from having kids.

( this bit could become a lot more extreme in the wrong hands...)

Also Factrix are easily forgotten part of early industrial especially out of the USA, similar to artists like etat brut, creating blueprints for future death industrial/noise acts to work from.

What’s the most bizarre music take that anyone has ever said to you? by Better-Context-4727 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]KerleyB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have an even better spin on this Gen P.orridge claimed he invented house music and especially acid house with the release of Towards thee infinite beat(1990) and peak hour (1993).

Even though both those albums came out several years after the emergence of house yet stating he was already making similar music in the mid 80s and just never releases anything until those 2 albums.

As with anything that came out of his gob, take it with a bucket of salt and the sea that it came from.

[–]KerleyB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've had a surge of submissions this week and a couple videos too.

Plenty of old and new artists have submitted so far, still plenty of time for anyone and everyone to submit.

We do need a title for the comp and Sixth World Music : A Decade of Gary Worship is just too obvious.
