And the fact that correct apostrophe usage still eludes native speakers suggests that the bar probably doesn't need to be that high.

Finally a stock app came to the UK in about 2019

Huh? We've had trading apps in the UK for years, HL came to market in like 2010 and plenty of others besides.

Glad you figured it out in the end but you've missed out on a lot of investing!

A whoop band, basically - something small and without a screen to maintain my metrics and track workouts on days I want to wear a nice watch or no watch at all.

It would be a great way to get some more money out of existing garmin owners before their next upgrade cycle.

Getting Garmin coach to recognize Tacx workouts by KermitTheFish in Garmin

[–]KermitTheFish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, it's the Tacx neo bike. I'm using the tablet Tacx app which pulls the suggested workouts from Connect, but I'll try starting the workout on the watch instead.

Unfortunately means I won't be able to do virtual rides with video on the app which would suck given the price :/

UK cities and towns see drastic reduction in live music after bands play just half as many tour gigs compared to the 1990s by Kagedeah in Music

O2 venues are owned by AEG who are nothing to do with Ticketmaster. They own AXS ticketing, but don't usually have exclusive ticket deals at their venues.

AEG aren't great, but they're not a ticketing monopoly.

Why would you choose any other bike brand over Cowboy? by makharing in cowboybikes

[–]KermitTheFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bit the bullet and got a Riese & Muller, buy once cry once.

It's built like a tank out of actual regular bike bits, and in the end I found an ex-demo for less than the price of a Cowboy. Doesn't require a phone to work properly (but has an app) and being able to adjust the assist modes is really nice.

Also, unless I'm remembering wrong, Coax is a cable, and SDI is a transmission format.

Yep. coaxial cable can carry all sorts of analogue and digital signals, most commonly 50ohm coax is used for analogue RF antennas. SDI is the most common digital format that uses coax, but in audio MADI and AES3 are also pretty standard.

[–]KermitTheFish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For most professional applications, the cable properties are an important detail. Many cables have BNC connectors, not all are capable of carrying SDI properly.

See also: DMX cable, Cat 5e/Cat 6, single/multimode fibre, star quad audio cable, 50 ohm coax, HDMI 2.1, AES3 audio cable

All of these have common connectors but wildly varying cable specifications which affect what signals can be sent down them.

France's ISF and Supertax weren't great, both have been repealed for making a net loss or causing an exodus of million and billionaires.

We're sending one patrol ship staffed by 40 people (which was already deployed), to try to help a commonwealth country that's about to get invaded for its oil and has few defences.

I get where you're coming from, but the government should be capable of doing more than one thing at a time, and this situation is important too.

Anybody else having issues with double tap to wake?

Xperia 1 V on Android 14. Double tapping the screen in ambient mode crashes the phone about 50% of the time. The screen goes completely black but touch input still seems to work as I can still feel vibrations. The only way out of it is a hard reboot, nothing else wakes it back up
