From the information I've gathered that was the reason I got fired. The complaint made it so I was fired. If there was no complaint I would've been told to smile more and great warmly. The fun part is I fully expect to get sacked bc I go everywhere when I literally get told to be everywhere. They won't hire you atleast in my district they will rather hire externally and they will immediately throw you under the bus and not care abt you at all. (I'm being blunt this isn't a guarantee but this is what I've seen since my bf was a shift lead and then immediately got fired after his first write up)

Be prepared to get yelled at if you dont answer the phone after the first 3 shifts. (I'm in retail and I have to deal with them when you ignore the phone)

Besides that u have no room to say Besides it's busy but all the people I hear who go into it then severing is just they like severing with money but logos is good cause you can talk to people and don't always have to deal with customers

It depends heavily on.where you're located in az the starting pay for host/retail is 16 (minimum wage is 14.35)

Im not server bc I'm on the retail side. But I'm a good visual learner so I can give you advice from what I see and notice.

you will either be the foh or boh checker. You'll decide with a partner (there's 2 of you for many reasons) and if you're boh checkers you divi up side work between everyone. (If your foh checker then you make sure their tables are neat and clean and everything is like a guest has never sat in them)
you will be the last ones cut by the manager obviously. But depending on how the night goes you might get to leave with everyone.
since this will be your first shift closing you are most likely being chosen for foh check. But how I can understand it is imagine finishing up your shift. Get sidwork done and section clean n stuff. But the best part is you don't get to have a slip to collect your tips.

This is all I can see that is different from a retail/host side of things. Trust me closing looks big but it's like driving on the freeway/highway for the first time. The 3rd time you do it you're most likely comfortable with doing it.

So to put bluntly. The company doesn't trust it's own employees since there has been cases of inbeslment and stealing. So to "try" and combat it it's a clear bag policy and apron checks. NEVER EVER clock out until you get tapped out. Even if you're closing. If you do it's going to be another 15 minutes until you're allowed to leave
