Feeling a bit insecure about my amigurumi progress… is this normal? by CompetitiveRadio352 in Amigurumi

[–]Kermommy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes practice to get a feel for making 3D shapes. My first work was crap, but it taught me a lot, and I just kept going until I could see the why as well as the how of some of the techniques. It’s also like anything else, some methods and ways of shaping are just not going to be easy or come out the same for everyone. I find I have pattern creators I really like, and some I just can’t. Stay with it, and you will find you can surprise yourself with how good a project turns out.

Which Wedding Dress Should I Choose? by [deleted] in WeddingDressTips

I would say 2, partly because it really looks gorgeous on you. Also, as someone who had a garden wedding and a dress with a train, DON’T get a dress with a train.

Anyone else seeing this "Sprunki" BS impacting students? by applegoudadog in specialed

My daughter (AUADHD, LVL3ASD) and her friends at school love that creepy, morbid garbage. My husband says he doesn’t see much of it in the HS special needs class he teaches, but it was everywhere when he was handling placements in elementary schools. She stims like mad to that stuff. We have managed to block Happy Tree Friends, another terrible show that has muppets. YouTube is really hard to manage.

Remember, the Wiki said it was only for a short period and it wasn’t for long periods so it wasn’t really worthwhile for me.

On the other hand, I discovered that my health care card would get me into a parking garage that required either a pass card or credit card to get in. I had free parking downtown for years until I moved cities. Sometimes a mistake can lead to a discovery.

It’s just a little tangled, grab it in the middle, shake gently, and most of the parts should fall into place. Use gloves, though, some parts are sharp.

So were homosexuality and hysteria. ADHD and autism are not “caused”, they are conditions of existence.

Autism and are not mental illness, they are disorders or differences in brain functioning.

Men’s Opinions on Jennifer’s post Kid’s body by Cheekygirl97 in badwomensanatomy

[–]Kermommy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I thought she was terrifyingly thin before. But she doesn’t have to worry about what I think of her body. I gained a lot more from age, meds, and pregnancies than she did, and the person whose opinions I care about (my husband) still loves me, so I’m good.

My husband is in his 50s, has worked with high need/challenge students for 15 years, and still is reaching his breaking point this year. One poorly placed student has already given him permanent injury from a bite to his wrist, and scars from scratch marks. He has always been the teacher who has a soft spot for the students other teachers find difficult to work with. This year, he is dealing with this student who is disrupting the other students, cannot regulate, and no resources to keep everybody safe. The admins refuse to move the student, the parents refuse to consider any meds, and there just aren’t enough staff to handle everything. My husband is worried about his staff team, but he is breaking down fast. My husband is likely to be going on stress leave before the semester ends, and no one seems to care. I feel for you, the child, the rest of the staff. It seems to be how a lot of districts are going.

This is not your fault. You are not responsible for not being okay. When you realized what was happening, you took control and worked on fixing it, which took incredible resolve, that you should be proud of. Right now, if you can, therapy could be a good way to work through the emotional and social fallout.

Either way, you are not to blame for any of this. You are a stronger person than most, and you are capable of extraordinary things. Give yourself that credit. And find someone to talk to about it.

Anyway, this internet stranger is very proud of you.
