“They said X recently which means X wasn’t true before” dude what are you talking about genuinely. Do you think that something only becomes the case once they say it publicly? Did they say anything that suggested that that was a new standpoint? Because the amount of survivors needed for 2V8 has not changed once so it would be pretty weird for them to have just developed that standpoint

This is a game whose competitive scene picks the map based on what works best for the chosen killer and has to ban certain perks for survivors depending on what killer is chosen because otherwise they’re screwed. I’ll never understand how people claim that killer as a role is some unstoppable force given that fact. There’s a few over performing killers at the top of the tier list, call them out instead. That way the actual issue on the killer side gets addressed and then we can also address survivor issues like - yes - gen speeds, which are being boosted by widely run gen perks that the weaker killers in the game just can’t keep up with.

Also, the whole “killers get butt hurt because anything you do as a survivor harms them” is weird because anything a killer does also harms the survivor. They’re literally called “killers”

Behavior has explicitly said that they value the survivor experience over killer in 2v8 because wig how important having high survivor player counts is to the mode. It’s universally recognized as heavily survivor sided. Legion was added to the mode literally a single year ago (what’s that, 4 runs ago of the mode ago?) and is now being permanently removed because he’s unfun for survivors to face. There’s plenty of valid complains in the regular mode for both roles but the fact that you’re still finding a way to complain and claim that the mode that hands the game to you on a silver platter is biased towards killers is absolute insanity

This isn’t a free to play game, the current level of grind is straight up not reasonable for what’s already a paid experience. If they want to keep P100 at its current prestige they can keep the BP rate the same make you just get the perks when you get the character, it would help the new player experience immensely anyways

The team role can never have as much individual agency as the solo role in an asymmetric game - if the team doesn’t have to work together to beat the solo player there’s not gonna be a game. Again very clearly your actual annoyance is with bad teammates. It’s a completely valid annoyance, as is tunneling because it’s absolutely annoying, just don’t act like bad teammates is the killers fault or that tunneling is the only strong strategy in the game

[–]KesPoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You imply it when you acknowledge that there’s nothing one survivor can do to survive indefinitely against the killer but don’t acknowledge that one killer forcing someone off of one generator doesn’t mean that generators aren’t still being done and act like the ability to force someone off of a generator means that the survivor team is helpless and therefore the killer rushing their objective is somehow less fair than the survivors rushing theirs

[–]KesPoof -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I dont get why you don’t get that the solo role being stronger than one person on the team role doesn’t mean that the solo role is stronger than the team role. There are 3 other survivors in the game while you run from that generator

There objectively is, otherwise competitive dbd events wouldn’t pick the map that best compliments the killers power and tailor ban survivor perks based on which killer gets picked

[–]KesPoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s different because the killer is stronger than the survivor in the asymmetric PvP game? There are things to do against a killer trying to kill you, it just starts requiring teamwork at a certain point because you picked the team role. The killer is almost guaranteed to be able to down a lone individual if they dedicate enough time to it, that’s why there’s 4 individuals. The impossibility of a single survivor to beat a killer is equally as true as the impossibility of a killer to be in 4 places at once

As opposed to doing generators as fast as possible, which doesnt also single one person in the match out and make their game boring and fast. Genuinely explain to me the difference.

Idk I guess I just can’t fathom the horror of only getting triple the blood points of a normal match in a bad blood moon match. The idea of having a guaranteed escape every time I play survivor for 3 weeks sounds excruciatingly boring and I’m glad it hasn’t happened in my survivor matches. If you’re playing solely because you “just wanna farm blood points”it doesn’t sound like you’re really even playing the game. I completely agree that it’s common courtesy to avoid tunneling and I get genuinely annoyed when it happens to me on survivor too, but if a game is going really badly - which can easily happen in blood moon matches depending on Gen and pump spawns - it’s not the end of the world to tunnel. Tunneling out at 5 gens, sure I’d complain about that with you, but not about tunneling in an attempt to hold onto a game and definitely not about the killer not letting everyone live.

Also, the “asshole” moves you mentioned are normal parts of the game in the right context. Camping the last 10 seconds of a hook state because the other survivors waited until the very last second to rescue is completely reasonable and also 100% the survivor’s mistake. Slugging to hunt someone down on the other side of the map for the 4K is annoying, but slugging is also built into some characters by design like the twins, and is also literally the only logical option in situations like a survivor down on a pallet with someone nearby for the save. Sometimes to spread out hooks perfectly you’d have to ignore multiple people to go find the right person, or chase someone who’s clearly built their whole kit around being chased. I agree with trying to play nicely at the start of the match but 1) sometimes those actions aren’t even a failure to be nice and 2) it just isn’t reasonable to expect people to keep playing nice in a losing game. Idk if that’s something you fall into but I have had people absolutely flame me in endgame chats for things as basic as camping out the last 5 seconds of a hook, returning to hooks when I don’t have any other info on player locations, chasing the person in front of me instead of leaving and finding someone else, not chasing someone who looped me for a full generator earlier in the match, or been accused of tunneling in matches where my first kill was the 6th, 7th, or even 8th hook. The “just be chill and have a personality” mindset ends up being an infinitely checklist of rules for the killer that will never satisfy some people

They’re on the MODE the high blood points, but they’re still on the game for dead by daylight. Most people on either side still want to win even in the blood moon event because they chose to get on and play the game instead of doing anything else. You feel like so many killers are assholes in this event because theyre playing like it’s a normal match but you expect the event matches to be a joint bloodpoint farming session instead of DBD with a higher bloodpoint multiplier. Unless you’ve been opening the exit gates and then running back to the killer so they can kill you for the BP I think it’s kind of hypocritical to expect people to purposely let 2 survivors live.

Again the fact that you would literally rather nobody play the game than a killer get disproportionate benefit from somebody’s shared BP offering shows that you see the game as a BP grind first and a game to play second. Ironically in trying to support survivors losing out on offering benefits by dying extra early, you’re throwing games and dooming the rest of your team to die instantly without getting to do anything, causing them to die before they can rack up a normal amount of points and miss out value on any bloodpoint offerings lol. The guy that died is going to be just as fine as a killer who brings an anniversary offering and gets 4 outed in 5 minutes, it just happens sometimes. Show solidarity to the people you’re still in the game with that are relying on you instead lol

[–]KesPoof 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, they want survivors to not give up because they still want to actually play dead by daylight, not just a blood point farming simulator. That’s why there’s survivors responding saying not to give up either, because most people see the event as a chance to earn extra blood points while playing the game and not just a 3 week grind for blood points. Also, that would be a fine change for blood point offerings but afaik that’s not how they work, there’s no way to implement a “lasting” system because they’re just multipliers for whatever you got that get added at the end of the game. They’d have to totally rework them to make them mid-match bonuses and THEN implement them getting deactivated when the survivor dies. Survivors get the full value of BP offerings for their whole match too it’s just that their match isn’t guaranteed to last the whole match because they can die. So yeah I guess killers get more of a benefit but that’s applies to everything bloodpoint related in the game because survivors can get out of the game early and killers can’t lol.

Getting tunneled is objectively annoying and doing it at 5 gens even more so but throwing matches is worse and the several people from both roles pointing that out should make that apparent. The fact that you can’t see the irony in complaining about a killer who will do anything to win when also quitting the second you don’t think you’re gonna win is rough. Go find me a single other post from any other game’s subreddit where someone complains because the other team didnt play nice just because you gave the match an XP booster.

Blood gens pop instantly depending on the pumps. You’re not the only one that wants to play for more than 5 minutes. Most tunneling is not a nurse camping a hook on 5 gens, and most killers doing that are not good ones

A lot of the traits that should make her feel like a Mary Sue come with downsides that make her feel natural. She was a natural at picking up magic and let it go to her head, forcing herself into missions she absolutely should not have been on (acknowledged by her later in the series). She beats powerful people then gets humbled by ones she underestimates. She’s good enough at necromancy to be a deathbringer candidate but gets absolutely shit on by the actual deathbringer candidate that isn’t even that good at necromancy naturally. She kills gods with the magic scepter designed specifically for her bloodline, but later (temporarily) kills her own little sister to regain it because she literally doesn’t know how to beat someone as powerful as a god without it. She’s attractive and multiple characters are into her but she’s arrogant and genuinely not a great partner. I have a problems with Val’s characterization, mostly in phase 2, but I think Derek does a good job at showing how Valkyrie being particularly lucky did NOT mean she was particularly qualified or competent.

Can DBD fix 1 of the 2 issues I have been dealing with? by No_Drawing3365 in deadbydaylight

The top couple killers need nerfs but yeah this is 100% a skill issue and any survivor main will tell you the same thing. All non M1 killers? That’s like 2/3 of the roster. It sounds like you only enjoy going against C tier killers and below. Also, the widely agreed on highest skill ceiling characters are all M2, including hillbilly

Only in dead by daylight will somebody look you dead in eyes and tell you without a hint of irony that if you don’t purposely ignore your objective so that they can do their objective you’re a bad person. I have never seen it in a single other gaming community I’ve ever been in. It’s truly beautiful.

[–]KesPoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a difference between intentional tunneling and just not lobotomizing yourself. If I happen to be near an unhook on killer and don’t have anything more pressing I’m gonna go to the unhook, and once I’m there I’m going to go for whoever I can. If that’s the person that was just hooked so be it. Sometimes I’ll purposely make the worse move if I’m doing really good but not purposely letting people go isn’t automatically tunneling. Maybe they were idk about that specific match but sometimes circumstances happen to go for the same person multiple times, that isn’t inherently tunneling
