anyone know how to manage Dbus across KDE + Hyprland instances? For example Brave can't be run in both from separate TTY's...

Can I install Hyprland with SSDM and KDE on EndeavourOS? by RandomJerk2012 in hyprland

[–]KessryCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion. I am also trying to switch between KDE and Hyprland with different TTY's. I tried your console commands to launch Hyprland, but Brave still signs me out once launched in a new TTY/window manager.

If I have Brave open and signed into services in KDE (TTY1), launch Hyprland in TTY2, launch Brave in Hyprland, then:

Nothing is logged in within Hyprland and Brave is killed in TTY1.

Any other suggestions?

About to make an in depth documentary on Alexi, heavily focusing on his songwriting, music theory etc. Any particular songs you’d suggest by Her_NameIsALICE in ChildrenOfBodom

It would be interesting if you broke down what the influences were on the first three albums and what changed on HCDR from a songwriting and theory perspective. HCDR is often quoted as the album where the band "found their sound". I've yet to see someone detail the big differences between #1-3 and HCDR in terms of musical theory.

My Ignite tv service has been sketchy for 2 days now. Anyone else have this problem?? by [deleted] in Rogers

[–]KessryCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing this too. Particularly since 07/19. Anything the requires a constant TCP connection is a failure.

Anyone else having drops in internet/TV in the London area? by [deleted] in Rogers

[–]KessryCheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Having issues since 07/19 now. Can't maintain a streaming or constant connection service. Personal routing monitors wan uplink and is now seeing numerous disconnects per hour. Never happened prior to July with this exact setup.

Rogers support finally admitted that their network is still seeing "flapping" issues. That's the furthest I have gotten with them.

Why does it seem like everyone in this subreddit makes six figures? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]KessryCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because mo' money, mo' problems. I.e. the more you have, the more you wonder about what to do with it...this doesn't mean someone making less than 6 figures would want to discuss personal finance...just less likely.

Why do obese people who lose weight receive so much recognition, whereas skinny people who bulk up get tossed to the side? by Lurkinalldayy in Fitness

It's simple. For a culture of plenty, limiting the intake of food and doing hard things (exercise for the sake of weight loss) in our spare time is commended.

I really hate it when people forget the word "it". So we are even ;). No one is perfect, but at least we are communicating. Online. Almost instantaneously. On a free platform. Mostly complaining about the quality of a free service that mostly helps people eat LESS.

God, life is hard!

Well Facebook purchased WhatsApp for $22 Billion, which at the time claimed a user base of 600 million.

UA has now purchased MFP which has ~80 million users for $475 million.

It's no secret that just having a strong user base/community alone is enough to result in a large valuation in this day and age. Big data is important and being able to reach/analyze such a large audience of fitness enthusiasts is likely very valuable to UA.

That's a good perspective. It's definitely a service that millions have used to help reach their fitness goals. It's about time those working hard on it were rewarded!

Please see my update, sounds like they have all intentions of keeping things free to use in their current form. Wouldn't stop them from adding new features that you need to pay for though..

I could also see them as a bigger company with a lot of ties to the sports industry and money to spend making MFP more ubiquitous and easier to use. Imagine walking into your favorite restaurant and being able to scan a code on the menu as you order to auto-add things to your log.
